🐾 Dogs & muddy boots welcome The pub in South Stoke village near Bath was closed and left empty four years ago; now the owner has agreed to sell; our community-based company has exchanged contracts with the owner with completion due in September 2016, subject to a successful fundraising campaign; we need to raise £525,000 to buy the pub and then some more for refurbishment and plan to raise the money through selling shares to the people of South Stoke, Bath and beyond.

Join us at the Packhorse for an evening of newsroom stories, behind-the-scenes media gossip and a peek at the tricks of the PR trade with our good friend Kevin Maxwell.

Kevin spent 20 years chasing the news at the likes of the BBC, Bloomberg, AP, Sky News and ABC before swapping journalism for PR. These days, he persuades journalists to write about his clients — and helps get the Packhorse noticed too!

Pull up a chair, settle in with a pint and hear the tales behind a career on both sides of the media fence. A lovely way to spend a Monday evening, with plenty to talk about afterwards. 🍻

🍎 Bring your apples, bring your neighbours — tomorrow is Apple Pressing Day! 🍏

One of our favourite days of the year, bringing everyone together at The Packhorse for a proper autumn afternoon.

Join us tomorrow, Sunday 11th October, from 2pm for apple pressing with Bob Honey and the team, live music from the Bath Skiffle Band, hot pork baps and, of course, a taste of local c***r! 🍻

Got some garden apples going spare? Bring them along and watch them turn into fresh juice. Don’t forget some empty containers to take yours home!

Whether you’re a familiar face or visiting for the first time, we’d love you to join us. Bring the children, bring the dog and catch up with friends old and new. 🍂

Our resident music night is back TONIGHT at The Packhorse, hosted by Drew Neirin! With 5–7 artists performing music from a mix of genres, it’s a great night out — and totally FREE!

It’s also Pie Night, so make an evening of it with one of our delicious homemade pies and a pint for just £20! (House w**e or a soft drink is also included in the deal if that’s more your thing).

☕️ 🍰 Charity Coffee Morning tomorrow
🗓️ Tuesday 6th October at 10am

This month we are raising money for Dorothy House Hospice. As many of you will know they provide exceptional personalised care and comfort to people in the local community who are approaching death or living with life limiting conditions.

As well as the usual delicious cake and coffee, there will be a raffle with some great prizes.
There will also be a chance to do some early Christmas shopping as the coffee morning hosts are selling Ubiety products (all profits go directly to the hospice) and handmade ceramic decorations.

So pop along and join us for some coffee, cake and more tomorrow morning at The Packhorse. All for a fantastic cause.
