FAITHLESS is a 4.2% ABV hazy pale ale brewed by the www.wensleydalebrewery.co.uk Released in July 2026, the beer plays on the famous electronic band's track with its tagline "Can't get no sleep" and is crafted using Mosaic and Pink hops Wensleydale Brewery.. It's the only time we'll get FAITHLESS on a Beer Engine (06/26), it's selling fast, therefore don't miss out.

The White Swan Stable Yard Beer Garden "Smithy" or "Forge" will this year will be used for the Beer & Cider Festival on the Bank Holiday weekend, August 28th to the 30th. Previously it was held in the Stables. History tells us that the Farrier lived and worked with his family in the Smithy. We've been hard at work sourcing ales, ciders AND for the first time, wines. We'll brief you about these soon. The Smithy will be "The CYGNET" Micro Pub for the Festival.

Maya our first White Swan apprentice has received a full distinction across the board in Hospitality with Lincoln College.
Lisa the White Swan Licensee said "we are immensely proud of what Maya has achieved and Maya has set the bar as we progress with the White Swan apprenticeship programme in hospitality".
The apprenticeship programme at The White Swan is intended to create an open-door into hospitality, with emphasis on good communication with patrons, a community approach, and a growing knowledge of brews. The next logical step for qualified apprentices is business management and, marketing strategies.
Maya said "I've learnt so much about myself, it's been a big confidence boost for me, the team led by Lisa has supported me 100%, thank you and, of course The White Swan Patrons have been amazing too, cheers".

We'll be letting you know the date of the next White Swan Quirky Quiz soon. The White Swan supports local groups whose patronage of the White Swan enables the Pub to raise funds through a raffle drawn on the night of the Quiz.

August at The White Swan, I'm going to find balance to unleash the force, but at the moment I'm optimistically looking up at the clouds, whilst calling Crows, because I'll be happy when it rains, to keep the flowers alive.

My journey of late has been to find strength, balance and growth and, maybe someday eventually I will ... I will be able to with stars of the heart and laughter-of-the-rose, come to my senses and reflect on the backwards and forwards of what hospitality brings to the table.

I've been gazing at the night sky whilst anti social Moths and the fluffiest Moth in existence flutterby. I've been thinking of writing letters to the cat in my dreams, who lives in the Witches Greenhouse in the corner of the Pub. Meanwhile my writerly ramblings and midnight musings tell a story of yet another glorious summer week of ale, ciders and, merriment with Patrons throughout the day. We're even finding folk who haven't been to The White Swan in years, returning, its quite remarkable, thank you sincerely, it's nice to see you again.

We'll be promoting our Ale & Cider Festival over the next few weeks, we've also decided our next Quirky-Quiz will be called "Tales of Whales and Flowerpots" ably led by The Ale Librarian, because you've guessed it, we're raising money for a Barton community library.

Firm favourite Horncastle Ales Wicked Blonde 3.9% ABV is back on a beer engine (01/08). A session Golden [sandy blonde] Ale, light and crisp, refreshing with soft fruity notes.

Miscellaneous arts have always featured in the White Swan, but this summer, quite organically we had the good fortune of receiving quite outstanding sculpture. Now, a plaque in the Stable Yard Beer Garden tells you about the sculptor and the meaning of the chains and rose planted to intertwine with the chains. We are thrilled to have such marvellous art, and judging by our Patrons response and many new friends feedback, it has enhanced the "beer garden" experience.
