It all began in 1985, when JungleLand first opened and entry cost £1 as an exciting and unique addition to the garden centre...

Four decades later, JungleLand remains one of the most beloved features at St. John's Barnstaple, a place where little ones become explorers, where the planting has grown and evolved over the years, and where the magic never quite seems to fade. 🌿

Over the years we've dressed it up for Halloween, transformed it for Christmas, hosted countless trails and adventures, and somewhere along the way, the Big Red Chair became a rite of passage. Hundreds, possibly thousands of photos have been taken in that chair. Babies who once sat in it are now bringing their own children. 🪑❤️

We're proud to announce our Santa Band charity for 2026: Supporting SNUG (Supporting Neonatal Users & Graduates).

When we asked you to nominate a charity close to their hearts, we heard some incredible stories about organisations across the South West, but one in particular had an incredible amount of support.

SNUG is a truly special organisation, providing wrap-around support to families who have experienced a difficult pregnancy, birth or neonatal stay; reducing stress, anxiety and isolation at one of the most challenging times a family can face. Based right here in the South West, they have supported thousands of families, offering peer support, community and compassion when it's needed most.

At a time when our local maternity services in North Devon are facing such significant challenges, it felt more important than ever to shine a light on the incredible work SNUG do for families in our community. We are honoured to be raising money for them this Christmas. 💙

🎅 Start saving your coins! Our Santa Band opens on Santa’s arrival night and donations can be made right through to the start of January 2027.
