What a fabulous night we had at The Savoy!

We were surrounded by some of the most high achieving business owners across the country, which was equally insightful and inspiring.

We heard tell her story. She talked a bit about her challenges and how she overcame them.

And although we didn’t win the national award for our category, it was a privilege to have won in our region, to represent Yorkshire on the national stage, and be a part of this spectacular event. Congratulations to all the businesses that won their category last night👏🏼

Thank you very much to and for an incredible evening.

This experience has only encouraged us to get our head down and see what more we can do with Happy Barista. Onwards and upwards💪🏼

Proud to be representing Yorkshire!

Best of luck to Wilsons Food Hall and Happy Barista as they proudly represent Yorkshire at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and HSBC National Final at The Savoy in London tonight.

Following their success at last month’s Yorkshire, Humber & North East Federation of Small Businesses and HSBC Small Business Growth Awards in Leeds, against strong competition Wilsons Food Hall were named Start Up Business of the Year, while Happy Barista received the Micro Business Award.

Since opening in Seamer, near Scarborough, in November 2024, Wilsons Food Hall has quickly become a standout destination, with its in-house bakery, deli, extensive wine selection and welcoming bistro, earning a loyal following from residents and visitors alike.

Based in Pannal, Harrogate, Happy Barista has been roasting its own coffee since 2021, sharing its passion through a popular mobile coffee pod at events and markets across the region.

Wishing both teams every success this evening as they showcase the very best of Yorkshire on the national stage.

Padel Up Knaresborough x Happy Barista

We’re teaming up with to bring a proper coffee experience to the padel courts!

Not only will there be courts and coffee, but also a bar, ice baths, a sauna, Hyrox gym, and much more.

We’re looking at building a strong team over the next couple of weeks to operate the coffee shop/evening bar. We have morning and evening shifts available, and it can be very flexible.

The Micro Business Award was a category to champion businesses with less than 9 team members, which are punching way above their weight.

This is that team.

Each one of these guys work so hard to make sure your coffee tastes delicious, that you feel welcome and that you leave happier than when you arrived.

We have high standards, and they work tirelessly to meet them.

We couldn’t have had such a big impact without them.

We’ve been keeping a secret.

We won the Micro Business Award for our region (Yorkshire, Humber and North East) at the Small Business Growth Awards!

Out of the hundreds of applicants, the runners up and winners were invited to an awards dinner last night.

We got to meet some very inspiring people and stay at the wonderful Oulton Hall. It was an evening of celebrating the terrific achievements of incredible businesses.

Because we won our category, we are invited to the national awards in London next month to find out if we won nationally.

Some snaps over the last couple of weeks, seeing as though we’ve been so quiet on here lately!

Seriously, we’ve been so much busier than we could have imagined at the roastery. Thank you for all your support. We’ve felt a very warm welcome in Pannal, and it already feels like home.

We’ve got more plans for the roastery. The upstairs is still to fit out. There’s so much space!

We also had the pleasure of having Liam from visit the roastery on Friday. He brought some DELICIOUS samples for us to try.
