So we went to Falls by Orry Shand last night. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t want to like it. I wanted to come on here and moan about something. I can’t it was fantastic from start to finish. We have already rebooked! Everything was very very good. The building is beautiful, the service was attentive but not stuffy, the courses were served but Orry and his team and they were obviously very proud of their dishes. I would say go and try it what a gem to have on our doorstep.

A few folk have been asking what goes into our pizzas – does the pepperoni contain any nasties? Is the mozzarella made with animal rennet? Fair questions, and we’re all for being transparent.

As the great Bob Mortimer once said, “Meats and cheeses always pleases,” so here goes…

🍕 Our dough is made with flour (go and have a look at what they’re doing – it’s brilliant), plus just yeast, salt and a lot of water.

🧀 Our mozzarella is made using microbial rennet, so it’s vegetarian-friendly. It has never been anywhere near the lining of a cow’s stomach. Promise.

🍅 Our tomatoes are always Mutti. About half of Italy seems to use them, they’re cheaper than San Marzano, and if you ask me… they’re even better.

🌶️ Our pepperoni comes from Properoni. It contains no nasties, costs an absolute fortune, but we reckon you’re worth it. In fact, we’ve just swapped the chorizo on our Meat Feast for their spicy paprika pepperoni discs because… well… we think they’re better. And, again, you’re worth it!

At the end of the day, if I wouldn’t happily eat it myself, I’m not putting it on a pizza for you.

Happy Tuesday! Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. Thank you to everyone for coming and getting pizza last week. We had a wedding on Tuesday, Platform 22 on Thursday, Coop Friday, wedding Saturday shattered Sunday 😝This week you can find us at Platform 22 on Thursday 5pm-8pm, Hill of Banchory Coop Friday 4pm-7.15pm, please note the early finish as we are heading to a private party straight after. Saturday we have a private party. We start off our week treating ourselves to dinner at Falls by Orry Shand on Wednesday and we are really looking forward to it! 🍕 We’re Hiring! 🍕

Fancy spending your Fridays surrounded by the smell of woodfired pizza? We’re looking for someone to join the Lily’s Dough team!

What you’ll be doing:
🍕 Preparing and serving our woodfired pizzas from our van.
🍕 Working as part of our small, friendly team.
🍕 Keeping up with the fast pace when the orders are flying in!

Hours:
📍 Every Friday – 3.30pm–8.00pm
📍 Some Thursdays – 4.00pm–8.00pm
📍 Extra shifts often available at weekend events (hours vary)
📍 Optional daytime food prep work also available if you’d like more hours.

We’ll be honest… it’s a hard-working role. It’s hot, it’s busy, and there are times you’ll barely stop moving. But it’s also great fun, no two shifts are the same, and there’s free pizza when you’re on duty! 🍕😄

Own transport is essential, as our shift times and locations don’t always work with local bus timetables.

If you’re reliable, friendly, happy to muck in, and don’t mind getting a bit floury, we’d love to hear from you.

Happy last Monday of July! Thank you all for making last week so busy. Here we are starting another beautiful week. Last week was busy and a battle to get through, this week is even busier, everyone wants a summer wedding! Anyway thank you for coming and buying our pizzas it means so much to us. This week we will be at Platform 22 on Thursday 23rd 5pm-8pm and Hill of Banchory Coop on Friday 24th 4pm-8pm. Happy Monday and what a beautiful Monday it is! Thank you all for a very busy week, as always we are so grateful to you for buying our pizzas. This week we will be at Platform 22 on Thursday 16th 5pm-8pm. It is always good to see everyone sitting out in the sun enjoying their pizzas with a glass of something cold. On Friday 17th we will be at Hill of Banchory Coop, no early finish this week. Private parties and weddings at the weekend.
