Go Sun Chinese Restaurant The Restaurant closed 29thJune (opened from 1966 -2025) Since the restaurant opens in 1966, , the Go Sun restaurant has always been the locals’ favoured.

Welcome to the exciting new Go Sun, Ballymena, County Antrim’s finest Chinese Restaurant (est 1966) located at Bridge Street, only a couple minutes walk down from the town’s main attraction “The Braid” Art Center. The restaurant underwent major refurbishment recently. During the time the Restaurant has been transformed into a stylish, comfortable and inviting establishment. The Go Sun offers a

wide range of menus from Restaurant, Early bird menu , Lunch and Take Away. Each offering a wide variety of choice and selection of cuisine foods. We also have a wide range drinks
available, with well over 100+
different whiskeys (Irish, Scotch and
Japanese) and 40+ different gins

due to unforeseen series of unfortunate recent advents and loss of our kitchen staff, Go Sun kitchen is effectively now closed.
I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you. Thank you for your understanding and support.

However many regular customers and friends have been contacting me saying that they would like to pop in one last time for a farewell to the old place. My brother and I have therefore decided to open the restaurant on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. We will provide a very limited selection buffet for those who fancy a small bite to eat, the bar will be open for those who just want to pop in for a farewell drink and a Bit of craic.

Due to recent events we are unsure of what will happen over the weekend, we have decided safest plan is to keep restaurant closed, to maintain safety of our customers and staff. We will further risk assess at beginning of next week.

Notification to customers who have booked in for the promotion of the Shortcross gin night this Friday 13th June, unfortunately Shortcross has decided today to cancel the event, they are aware we have 50 people booked in and anticipating the event. They stated it was because the restaurant is closing and would therefore not be doing any future business with us.
We have decided to serve the Italy brand - Malfy gins instead which is in every way as good. The gin menu includes lemon , blood orange and pink grapefruit gins.
I appreciate that this is not what you have booked for. We will as always endeavour to ensure everyone has a good night despite Shortcross’s “ short coming”
However if any of our patrons wish to cancel due to this change, just let us know

After 60 wonderful years of proudly serving the incredible community, it is with a heartfelt bittersweet announcement that we are closing the Go Sun on 29th June 🥲🥲
For over two generations of the Sung family, the people of Ballymena have accepted and welcomed us into their community.
We have been privileged and blessed to have served our loyal customers / friends as they chose the Go Sun to celebrate many of life’s milestones and to share their stories.
We also want to thank our amazing staff who came and went over the years, working alongside the family throughout all the highs and the lows.
As the doors of the Go Sun close and an era ends, we want to say a massive thank-you to all the people who have made it possible, for the wonderful support and mostly for all the fantastic memories.
