When you order something handmade, you're order more than just an object. You're buying hundreds of hours of FAILURES - ERRORS and experimentation. You are buying days, weeks, and months of work. You aren't buying a thing, you're buying a piece of heart and soul of a craftsman.
Look at the second photo. That block of foam was a complete failure. It wasn't good enough.
So, I threw it in the bin.
It can be heartbreaking to scrap hours of heavy, physical work, but my rule is simple: if I wouldn't be completely satisfied to receive it for my own family, I won't sell it. I grabbed a brand-new block, put the force and focus back into my hands, and started over. That is what bespoke truly means to me—pouring every ounce of energy into making sure a final goodbye is exactly as perfect as it deserves to be.
