Assistant Manager – The Lion, Clanville

The Lion, Clanville is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our small, friendly team.

This is a full-time position offering a 5-day working week with two days off each week, including Sunday evenings, providing an excellent work-life balance within a welcoming village pub environment.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the pub, supporting the management team to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high operational standards.

Responsibilities

* Assisting with the daily management of the pub
* Leading shifts and supporting team members
* Delivering exceptional customer service
* Managing cash handling and stock control procedures
* Ensuring compliance with licensing, health & safety, and company policies
* Assisting with staff training and development
* Helping create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers and staff

Essential Requirements

* Proven experience working as an Assistant Manager within a pub, bar, or hospitality environment
* Personal Licence holder (essential)
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* A positive, hands-on approach to hospitality
