S E A S O N A L & L O C A L these organic courgette flowers were picked in Sale about half an hour before we took this snap. The courgettes are glutting so we bought a stack from our friends and made this soup (swipe across) with a tempura flower. Absolutely yum!

Our handmade sourdough is on sale today and tomorrow. 2.50 per loaf. Our site is closed today and tomorrow and this means we have a bread surplus. So, for two days only, some of Greater Manchester/ Cheshire’s best sourdough is going cheap. Photographed is three of the stages of production. We’ve been making it daily since 2013.

Duck Two Ways - Smoked (by us) Breast and Hoisin Leg in a Spring Roll w a Noodle Salad and Crispy Pork Belly. Soup is tricky when it’s this hot so we have done Pea w a Soft Boiled Egg and Crispy Pancetta. As always We have plenty of wine, beer, homemade softs and iced tea and coffee.

We’d like you keep wearing masks in Blanchflower for the foreseeable future. This is why.

The big issue for us over the next few months will be self-isolating staff and maintaining service standards as the inevitable absences stack up. The farce of today’s flip-flopping by the PM Illustrates the reality facing every business and service in the UK. Opening up and letting the virus rip while maintaining track and trace at its current levels is illogical.

The government’s record on getting these calls right doesn’t fill us with confidence. They made things worse by delaying the previous lockdowns and so the formbook suggests that they may make things worse by opening up too early. Things have been ticking along perfectly well over the last month or so and so we would like to keep that status quo in place.

If you don’t agree with this then we would like you to consider our wishes but we will not be challenging anyone who doesn’t wear a mask.
