Autumn Sundays are made for this. 🍂

Gather around the table, settle by the fire and let us do the cooking. Our Sunday lunches are all about the crispiest roasties, proper Yorkshire puddings, rich gravy and a plateful of comfort - best enjoyed with some good company, a glass of w**e and the fire crackling in the background.

As the days get colder, it’s time to slow down, treat yourself and make Sunday the best day of the week.

It’s harvest time! 🥕🚜

Another busy Sunday here at The Cowshed, with a rather spectacular view for our customers as the carrot harvest gets underway in the field beyond The Pasture garden area.

After a challenging summer for growing, the harvester has been busy working its way up and down the rows, bringing this year’s crop ready for the months ahead.

And we’re lucky enough to have a delivery of these very carrots coming straight to us - so keep an eye out for them making an appearance alongside our Sunday lunches.

We have an exciting opportunity here at The Cowshed!

We’re currently looking for an experienced full-time Sous Chef, confident in supporting high-volume service, leading the kitchen team, and helping manage stock, cleanliness, menu development, and day-to-day operations. The role requires experience in a gastro-pub setting with previous leadership roles.

Here at the Cowshed, all of our roles are done with a smile. We are a family-run business and pride ourselves on reliability, teamwork, flexibility, and consistency. At our core, we look after one another!

Next up in our “Meet the Team” series is Jada!

Jada has worked with us here at The Cowshed for four years, and we’ve loved every second! You’ll often see Jada around on the floor taking your orders, or in the “Food on the Mooove!!!” Trailer cooking up your Yorkie wraps!

Some words from Jada:

What’s your favourite thing about working at The Cowshed? 🐮

“It has to be the people. I love working with such a great team and getting to know all of our customers. It’s not only the work-life as well, we always organise rounders meet-ups outside of work to enjoy the summer sun!”

What’s your favourite drink? 🍸

“A Sarti Spritz! It was added to our drinks menu a few weeks back, and it’s the best way to relax in the sun with some good company.”

What’s your favourite dish? 🍽️

“I’d be lying if I didn’t say the pulled beef Yorkie wraps from the trailer. I absolutely love them - however, I’m slightly biased as I think I make the best one!”

And finally, a few words from Will!

“Jada has become a real star member of our team. She’s incredibly capable and has developed into someone we can rely on confidently, even when we are busy! She’s always willing to get stuck in, takes responsibility and genuinely cares about giving our customers the best experiences possible. Watching her grow in confidence and capability has been brilliant!”

Jada is now preparing for her next chapter, with plans to move into a banking apprenticeship. We’re incredibly proud of everything she’s achieved during her time with us and excited to see where her next adventure takes her. Don’t worry, she’ll still be with us at the weekends cooking up your wraps!

🐾 We heard your requests…we listened!

Introducing The Woof Station at The Pasture!

We know many of you love bringing your four-legged friends along, so we’ve created a dedicated area and station stocked with everything they’ll need for a pub trip out:

- Water
- Water Bowls
- Dog waste bags
- Cosy Blankets
- And most important of all…treats!!

To help everyone enjoy their visit, we kindly ask that:

- Dogs are kept on a lead at all times
- Dogs are welcome in the outdoor Pasture area only.
- Dogs are not permitted inside the restaurant.
- No mess is left behind, and we know that isn’t the dogs concern!
- And please, if it’s too hot for your dog, leave them at home where they’ll be safe, comfortable and out of the sun! Their wellbeing always comes first ❤️

We can’t wait to welcome you, and most importantly, your furry companions to The Pasture garden area! Let us know who will be visiting by leaving us a comment!🐾🌿

P.S we might even take a Polaroid of them for our doggy visitor board in the making!

✨ Meet the Team - Jack ✨

As an independent gastropub, we thought we would start introducing ourselves weekly!

Meet the first contender, Jack! If you’ve visited The Cowshed over the last few years, chances are you’ve met Jack, or he’s been cooking for you!

Jack joined us when he was just 16 years old, and from day one he’s brought a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and plenty of laughs to the team. Throughout his time here he’s worn many hats, working Front of House, progressing into the kitchen as our Sous Chef, and now returning to Front of House again!

Some words from Jack:

🐮 What’s your favourite thing about working here at The Cowshed!

“My favourite part has easily been the adaptability and opportunity for personal growth here. I’ve learnt so many things along the way, and I really feel that’s what’s shaped me into the person I am today!”

🍽️ Favourite dish?

“Without any hesitation, it must be the Braised Beef. Not only is it a customer favourite, but it’s the very first thing I learnt to cook under the guidance of our Head Chef, Joe.”

🍸 Favourite drink?

“The only way to relax after a busy Sunday is a double vodka lemonade with lime, hopefully sat in the Pasture with the team”

💬 What Will says?

“Jack joined us at just 16 years old and has been a huge part of The Cowshed ever since. He’s always willing to my muck in wherever he’s needed and has a fantastic attitude. My job can be stressful at the best of times, but watching someone grow up and transform is truly one of my favourite things about my job!”

We’re incredibly grateful for everything Jack has brought to the team over the years and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. If you see him beyond the bar or out on the floor, make sure you say hello!!! 👋
