A little update from me... 🩷🩷
I've had quite a few messages asking if the Little Pink Shed is open, so I just wanted to let everyone know that unfortunately the shed will be closed until further notice 😔
For those that have been following along, here's a quick update. Around eight weeks ago I woke up with the most horrendous headache, and since then it's been one thing after another. After countless appointments, scans and being passed from pillar to post, an MRI finally showed that I have a CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) leak.
A CSF leak means there's a tear somewhere around my spine, allowing the fluid that normally cushions and supports my brain and spinal cord to leak out. Because there's not enough fluid supporting my brain properly, it causes severe headaches that are much worse when I'm upright and only ease when I lie flat. It's also caused problems with my hearing, dizziness and a whole list of other symptoms that have completely turned life upside down.
I'm still in hospital waiting to be transferred to the Neurology ward in Preston, where they'll decide on the best treatment to hopefully get the leak repaired and get me on the road to recovery. If I'm honest, it's probably for the best that I'm still here, because I'd almost certainly be trying to bake for you all if I was at home! 🤦🏼♀️🤣
I'm so sorry to everyone who's been looking forward to their weekend cake fix. I genuinely hate letting people down, but right now I have to concentrate on getting better.
If 2026 could kindly get in the bin, I'd really appreciate it! 🤣 Between recovering from major surgery earlier this year and now this, it's definitely not been my favourite year. Despite everything, I'm trying to stay positive and hope I'll be back baking for you all as soon as I'm able.
