A little update from me 🩷

I’m still in hospital and unfortunately still waiting for some more tests and answers, so I’m not quite sure yet when I’ll be home and back doing what I love.

I know some of you are waiting for updates about cakes and future orders, so please just bear with me. I’ll update everyone as soon as I know more. 🩷

I’m so sorry that things have been a bit quiet and that I’ve had to let some lovely customers down recently. After 16 years of never having to do this, it’s been really hard for me too. 😔

It’s been a pretty crazy few weeks, and honestly, these girls have kept me sane! 😂🩷 Three weeks in hospital is a long time, and having people around who completely understand what you’re going through has made such a difference.

There’s been plenty of laughing, crying, moaning, ridiculous conversations and probably far too much hospital gossip! 😂

I’m still hoping I’ll be back in my little kitchen before too long. 🎂💕 Until then, thank you so much for all the lovely messages, patience and understanding. It really does mean the world to me. 🩷

A little update from me... 🩷🩷

I've had quite a few messages asking if the Little Pink Shed is open, so I just wanted to let everyone know that unfortunately the shed will be closed until further notice 😔

For those that have been following along, here's a quick update. Around eight weeks ago I woke up with the most horrendous headache, and since then it's been one thing after another. After countless appointments, scans and being passed from pillar to post, an MRI finally showed that I have a CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) leak.

A CSF leak means there's a tear somewhere around my spine, allowing the fluid that normally cushions and supports my brain and spinal cord to leak out. Because there's not enough fluid supporting my brain properly, it causes severe headaches that are much worse when I'm upright and only ease when I lie flat. It's also caused problems with my hearing, dizziness and a whole list of other symptoms that have completely turned life upside down.

I'm still in hospital waiting to be transferred to the Neurology ward in Preston, where they'll decide on the best treatment to hopefully get the leak repaired and get me on the road to recovery. If I'm honest, it's probably for the best that I'm still here, because I'd almost certainly be trying to bake for you all if I was at home! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

I'm so sorry to everyone who's been looking forward to their weekend cake fix. I genuinely hate letting people down, but right now I have to concentrate on getting better.

If 2026 could kindly get in the bin, I'd really appreciate it! 🤣 Between recovering from major surgery earlier this year and now this, it's definitely not been my favourite year. Despite everything, I'm trying to stay positive and hope I'll be back baking for you all as soon as I'm able.

Thank you so much for all the lovely messages, well wishes and for supporting my little business. Your kindness has genuinely kept me smiling through some pretty rubbish days, and I'm so grateful for every single one of you.

Well... this week's shed update is coming to you from a rather glamorous hospital bed. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

After 8 weeks of health chaos, endless appointments, and more than a few conversations with PALS, they've finally worked out what's been causing all my symptoms. Hopefully that means I can finally get the treatment I need and get back on my feet properly. ❤️

Before I was admitted yesterday, I managed to get as much baked as I possibly could, so the shed is stocked... just not quite as full as normal, and sadly there are no cream cakes or cheesecakes in the fridge this weekend!

Mr Cake House has very kindly taken over shed duties while also keeping the kids fed, watered and alive, so if you happen to see him out and about, give him a little wave (or a strong coffee... he looks like he might need one! 😂).

This weekend's goodies are in the shed as usual. Once it's gone, it's gone, as I'm currently under strict instructions to stay exactly where I am and not bake... apparently escaping the ward to bake isn't part of my treatment plan! 🤣
