Striders Coffee Shop

Striders Coffee Shop Striders is a non-profit making coffee shop, any surplus funds will be ring-fenced for future community projects.

The coffee shop became more than just an idea when Aberdeen City Council asked Bridge of Don Baptist Church for permission to use its car park as a "Park and Stride" facility for parents dropping children off at Greenbrae School. Striders aims to provide an encouragement and incentive for parents to use the arrangement - after all, who can resist the opportunity for a good cup of coffee and a cha

t with friends? Since opening last August, we have welcomed many people from in and around Bridge of Don. The coffee shop is a non-profit making organisations and any surplus funds will be ring-fenced for future community projects. Striders is located in the basement of Bridge of Don Baptist Church, Dubford Road, Aberdeen AB23 8GS The entrance is round the back of the building and can be accessed by steps on the car park side or a paved slope round the far side of the building. We have access for wheelchairs, prams and buggies.

The Final Giveaway
When Striders Coffee Shop closed its doors on 14 March 2020, we thought it would only be for a matter of weeks. Since then, we’ve kept reviewing if we are in a position to reopen. After all this time, we have, with heavy hearts, made the decision that we cannot. We are massively grateful to all our volunteers over the years who have baked, cleaned, served and worked away in the background. We also want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who has come and enjoyed a coffee and a cake - it is your custom that has made it possible for us to give away all the profits!
As this is ‘the end’ of Striders in this form, we have dispersed the remaining funds:
AberNecessities £1000
Befriend a Child £500
Home-Start Aberdeen £500
Somebody Cares Aberdeen £300
Aberdeen North FoodBank King's Community Foundation £250
And a residual donation towards the provision of the Warm Space in Bridge of Don Baptist Church on Wednesdays.

Thank you - we have loved it all.
Ros and Marion

**Update Wed 16th June.**

Thank you to everyone to has volunteered plants and cuttings. We are amazed and feel very grateful for all your offers of support.

Can we please ask that all donations of flowers and plants are dropped off at school on Saturday (19th June) between 9.15am and 9.55am so that they can be planted later in the day. Please wear a face covering while on school grounds.

If you can't make it to school but have something you would like to donate please email [email protected] and we can make alternative plans.

Thank you once again for your kindness and support. It is very much appreciated.

**

At Middleton Park we are looking for donations of plants and flowers to surround our magnificent Rhinosaur in Dougal's Garden.

We are very fortunate to have had the Bridge of Don and District Men's Shed build us 7 planters and we now need plants to fill them. We are looking for plants that will return year on year, enjoy a little bit of sun, but are equally happy in the shade.

If you have any seedlings or plants you would like to donate please email [email protected] or PM our page and we can arrange collection/drop off.

Thank you for your continual support to Middleton Park Community.
