🍻 THE NEW-LOOK MARKET TAVERN 🍻

After a busy few weeks, we’re excited to finally show you the new and improved Market Tavern!
We’ve given the Tavern a fresh, modern new look while keeping the atmosphere and character that makes it what it is.

There are still a few finishing touches to come, but we’re really pleased with how it’s all coming together.

We are now OPEN AS USUAL from today onwards! 🙌
And the refurb is only the start…

🔥 THIS SATURDAY AT THE MARKET TAVERN 🔥

We’re open as normal this weekend and we’re getting very close to having the refurbishment fully finished.

There are still a couple of finishing touches being done, so thanks to everyone who’s put up with the disruption — but the Tavern is looking completely different now.

We’ve gone for a more modern, smarter feel and we’re changing things up with new entertainment, new ideas and a fresh atmosphere, while still keeping the Tavern what it’s always been. 🍻

🎶 Taking requests throughout the night

This is the start of plenty more coming to the Tavern over the next few months, so get yourselves down, have a look at the new setup and enjoy a proper Saturday night with us.

We’re looking for a new resident DJ to join us at the Market Tavern for regular weekend nights. 🍻🎶

We want someone who can read the room, keep the dance floor going and bring a proper atmosphere — playing a good mix of music to suit the crowd.

🔥 EXCITING NEWS – CUSHTY CAFÉ IS ALMOST READY! ☕🍳

While we undergo some exciting changes to the Market Tavern over the next couple of weeks, we’re also getting very close to opening the doors to our brand-new Cushty Café!

We want Cushty to be exactly what the name says – warm, cosy, relaxed and welcoming, complete with a lovely log burner for those cold winter mornings. 🔥☕
Our menu won’t be massive.

The plan is to keep it small, simple and done properly – good breakfasts, lunches and proper homemade-style café food without trying to offer 100 different things.

The café and pub will operate as separate areas, but we’ll also be introducing a small selection of easy pub food/snacks that can be ordered in the bar – things like sandwiches, chicken & chips in a basket and other simple favourites.

We’re not looking to turn the main pub into a restaurant; we want it to stay a pub! 🍺

👨‍🍳 WE’RE ALSO LOOKING FOR A COOK!

We’re looking for an experienced, reliable cook who would like to take the reins in the kitchen and become a big part of getting Cushty Café up and running.
Ideally, we want someone who: • Has previous kitchen/café experience

• Is confident working independently
• Takes pride in serving good-quality food
• Is reliable, organised and clean
• Would enjoy helping us develop the menu and grow the café

There’s a real opportunity for the right person to make the kitchen their own and grow with us from the beginning.

We’re getting ready to open Cushty Cafe inside the Market Tavern and we’re looking for a reliable cook to join us.

We’re looking for someone who can work confidently in a kitchen, prepare good-quality food and help us build the cafe into something really good.

✅ Reliable and hard-working
✅ Friendly and able to work as part of a team
✅ Based in or around Aberdare would be ideal
