A beloved Aberdare food spot is celebrating a massive milestone this weekend as Richie's Snack Bar marks a full decade in business.

Owner Richard Davies, who has lived in the town his entire life and attended Aberdare Boys Comprehensive School, shared a heartfelt message reflecting on the incredible ten-year journey.

He recalled the very beginning when he and his dad picked up their food van from Lisa over in Gelli in the Rhondda, before officially setting up shop in Robertstown.

What started as a simple dream all those years ago has transformed into a local sensation. Richard expressed his immense pride at building something so amazing, noting that the past ten years have been filled with fun, chaos, and brilliant banter.

The business has built an impressive community, boasting 27,000 followers, and has even captured wider media attention.

The snack bar made the local paper thanks to the legendary Richie's Length challenge.

The humungous two-foot-long sandwich has become a massive draw, with eager food fans travelling from all over the UK to Robertstown just to attempt the mighty eating feat.
