Hi there! Those of you who participated in the earliest Beginners Workshops at the launch of Quillangue in 2024 and 2025 will remember Rosine. A brilliant and patient teacher who is perfectly fluent in English, she helped many participants of all levels (me included!) to develop their speaking and understanding abilities, as well as grammar and vocabulary skills. She was previously helping us out as a volunteer and is now looking to establish herself as a full time French teacher. 😎I have just been helping with the re-registration in France of a vehicle bought overseas. The last time I did this, the process took many months, including the renewal of French car insurance which was provisional depending on the progress of the application. This time the online process was completed within 48 hours and we're now just waiting for the Carte Grise to arrive in the post.
‼️It remains the case that, as the re-registration of a vehicle registered overseas should be started within 1 month of arrival in France, the practical problem with completing what is for many the first of many admin tasks in France is the actual ability to access the online system.
💟 Using a procuration (Power of Attorney), longer term French residents with online access can complete the admin process on your behalf. For those who use CESU registered individuals, assistance with Démarches Administratives is eligible for CESU+ tax rebates (€20 paid to your admin assistant only costs you €17.57).

‼️Taxe Foncière : you should have received your bills in your online Impôts space, or by post. The payment is due by 15 OCTOBER.
⚠️NOTE :
✅You can pay in one lump sum now online.
✅You can request an online payment where the Impôts will make the deduction (ie a one-off direct debit or échéance) and the payment will be taken 26 October.
✅You can also request that the payment is taken immediately in which case it will be set to be deducted 3 days after you complete your request online.
✳️Finally, you can ask for a monthly payment plan to be set up BUT you MUST put your request and bank details in place prior to 1 October for this option to apply FROM 2027 ie if you haven't already asked for the monthly payment option you have to pay the lump sum as per the options above and put the monthly option in place for next year. The payments are taken in 10 equal instalments from January 2027 to October 2027 (ie you will be paying monthly in advance) and you will get a notification of the exact deductions later. If you do this, you will continue to pay this way automatically unless and until you say otherwise.
🆓France Services may be able to help you with setting up the payments online, but I have also heard them say that if you don't live in France you cannot have an online account. This isn't actually correct : it's just a little more involved, so if you need help setting up an online space first, you know where to find me!!
