Doug Coombs, one of the most influential skiers and internationally certified mountain guide, spent many years of his life in La Grave to explore the steep terrain of the La Meije massive. As a tribute to his work and life, K2 launched the Coomba skis in 2006 after passing away in La Grave. A percentage of the tribute ski's sales go to Dougs family. The La Grave edition 2014 Coomback pays tribute to Doug and his skiing years in La Grave. There are two model:
