For five years, we’ve had the chance to work alongside SEY, sharing the same obsession with great coffee.

To celebrate that journey, part of the Motors Coffee team is flying to New York for one weekend only.

We’ll be taking over the bar at SEY.

For this collaboration, we wanted to play with color as a common thread across the entire collection and SEY’s DNA.

Every Lost Origin coffee box will be painted by hand, making each one completely unique. The same colorful language will run through the cups and the T-shirt, featuring a graffiti-inspired design.

Art felt like the perfect link between our two cities. Something deeply rooted in both Paris and New York, and part of the visual culture we’ve grown up around.

Different cities, different scenes, same energy.

To mark the occasion, we’re releasing a collection of limited editions created just for the event:

• Handmade cups by our friends Daniel Dooreck peyton perron
• An exclusive Motors × Sey T-shirt design by Max-Aimé Dirand

MotorSpro

Because more and more of you have been asking us what the MotorSpro is, how it works, and why we serve espresso this way. So here’s the story.

It all started with a stroke of genius by Marso Lola

One day, while pulling a turbo shot of Finca Sophia that she hadn’t tasted yet, she hit the button a second time to see if she could extract more just to have an idea of the flavor notes. What came out was unexpected. We tasted it, looked at each other, and immediately knew something special had happened. So the whole Motors team especially Selim and .silberman worked around this idea to create a shot that is extracted at its full potential.

Finca Sophia is an incredibly complex coffee. In the first part of the extraction, a lot of its sweetness, fruit and structure shine through. But in that second extraction, something else appeared. The florals were suddenly crystal clear, elegant and vibrant. It almost felt like a completely different espresso. In some ways, it was even more expressive than the first one.

At Motors Coffee, we’re constantly experimenting. New techniques, new ideas, new ways of brewing. We’re always chasing that feeling we all remember: the moment we first fell in love with coffee.That’s how the MotorSpro was born.By splitting a single extraction into two cups, we get two completely different expressions of the same coffee. Not every coffee works with this method. In fact, poor coffees tend to fall apart because the technique exposes every flaw as much as every quality.

We wish espresso competitions were more open to radical ideas like this. Progress in coffee has always come from people willing to challenge conventions and explore new possibilities. The closer we push the limits of extraction, the closer we get to the true essence of the coffee itself.

This is our very first coffee sourced farm-to-cup together with . During our trip to Panama last March, we had the chance to meet David, who welcomed us to his farm, and we instantly fell in love with the place.

The altitude, terroir, processing methods, and above all the passion behind the work make one of the most outstanding farms in Panama, producing some of the country’s best lots year after year. This season has been especially difficult, with extremely low harvest yields, making this coffee even rarer.

This particular lot comes from the Colibri plot, offering notes of mango, bergamot, and lavender with remarkable elegance.

We always recommend letting the coffee cool down to fully experience its aromatic complexity. So for this special coffee we combine it with the thermometer. You can follow the evolution of the cup and experience the moment around 40°C where the profile shifts beautifully from delicate floral notes to a brighter, fruit-forward expression.
