☀️ Up next for our summer event series — the Fête de la Musique! 🎵 ☀️

We have the pleasure of welcoming accomplished musician and local vocal coach Maël Tröger and his students for a three-hour set of live music. The performances will focus on guitar-voice pop, rock and folk music - truly something for everyone.

As partner to our senior barista charlywyly, Maël has been part of the Kursaal family for years. A state-certified vocal coach, his teaching draws on two rigorous methodologies: Allan Wright’s Modern Singer’s Technique (TCM) and Emmanuelle Trinquesse’s Chant Voix et Corps (CVC) — a science-based approach centred on freeing the voice through physical ease and anatomical awareness.

Though his students have performed at private open-mic events, this concert will be their first show open to the public — an opportunity not to be missed. Based just down the street at Place de la Nation, Maël has been working with his students for years to help them find their voice, build confidence, and step into the spotlight.

Open since 2018, The Kursaal is a friendly neighborhood coffee shop of the Bel-air/Picpus area of the 12th arrondissement. We’ve got a loving community of regulars and a dynamic team of experts in food. 
We’re looking for a part-time pastry cook (20h/week) starting late June, a role that will increase in hours in the fall.

The ideal candidate will:

* have one year of experience making pastries in a professional context
* be organized, self-disciplined and a team player - if everyone gives their best effort, everyone wins

This is an ideal position for someone early in their career looking to build production experience. You’ll be baking American-style pastries from scratch in a working café kitchen, while learning about coffee, global cuisine, and what it takes to run a small independent business.

* Hours: 20-25 per week 
* Brut Salary: starting from 12,75 per hour, increasing with experience
* Advantages: 50% pass Navigo, mutuelle, tips and meals

Nous lançons notre programmation estivale avec un atelier d’écriture animé par Manon, barista au Kursaal mais aussi poétesse et diplômée en création littéraire. Au programme : la métamorphose. Vous êtes les bienvenu·es, que vous soyez de grand·es adeptes de la plume ou débutant·es.
L’atelier sera en français.

This session will explore the theme of metamorphosis, and whether you’re a seasoned writer or simply curious to put pen to paper, you’re more than welcome.

Congratulations to Pascual and Paulina, for the birth of their son, Dante! The two longest members of our team, these two have been serving up coffee and food for the last few years, and it’s now time for them to focus on their family. Let’s wish these guys the best of luck in their first few weeks and months of parenthood, we can’t wait to have you back at the café with little Dante in tow.

Calling all cardamom lovers ✨ Both our drink and cake of the moment spotlight this beautifully aromatic spice.

Our Blood Orange Olive Oil Cake is paired with a cardamom dark chocolate ganache. Bright citrus notes from the blood orange balance perfectly with the sweet, warmly spiced ganache. According to Lucy, it’s “not to be missed!”

Our Drink of the Moment is a rich hot chocolate featuring our house-made cardamom syrup, wrapped in the nutty warmth of brown butter. Cozy, indulgent, and perfect for a winter escape. Feeling more coffee than cocoa? You can also enjoy these flavors as a cappuccino.

Avis aux amateurs de cardamome ✨ Notre boisson et notre gâteau du moment mettent en vedette cette épice magnifiquement aromatique.

Notre gâteau à l’orange sanguine et à l’huile d’olive est accompagné d’une ganache au chocolat noir et à la cardamome. Les notes d’agrumes éclatantes de l’orange sanguine s’équilibrent parfaitement avec la douceur chaleureusement épicée de la ganache. Selon Lucy, c’est « à ne pas manquer » !

Notre boisson du moment est un chocolat chaud riche préparé avec notre sirop maison à la cardamome, enveloppé de la chaleur noisettée du beurre noisette. Réconfortant, gourmand et parfait pour une pause hivernale. Plutôt café que cacao ? Vous pouvez aussi savourer ces saveurs en cappuccino.
