Journée nationale de la Résistance !
Ce 27 mai correspond à la date de la première réunion du Conseil national de la Résistance, présidée par Jean Moulin, le 27 mai 1943 à Paris.
Aujourd’hui, le Café Max rend hommage à celles et ceux qui ont refusé de céder.
Lieu chargé d’histoire et de mémoire, le Café Max, dont le nom fait écho à « Max », pseudonyme utilisé par Jean Moulin durant la clandestinité, fut un refuge discret de la Résistance.
Un nom et un lieu qui symbolisent le courage, l’engagement et la lutte pour la liberté de femmes et d’hommes qui ont résisté dans l’ombre.
Depuis, le bistrot a traversé les époques sans jamais perdre son identité

Today, Café Max pays tribute to those who refused to surrender.
A place rich in history and remembrance, Café Max — whose name echoes “Max,” the pseudonym used by Jean Moulin during his time in the underground Resistance — was a discreet refuge for the Resistance.
A name and a place that symbolize the courage, commitment, and fight for freedom of the women and men who resisted in the shadows.
Since then, the bistro has lived through the decades without ever losing its identity
