Chalet Ascensus is an independent owner run luxury catered chalet operator for both Winter and Summer activities based in the French ski resort of Les Carroz D'Araches part of the 4th largest ski area, the Grand Massif. om Calais for those driving from the UK. Les Carroz is a hidden gem it is part of Frances 4th largest ski area, the spectacular Grand Massif with over 275km of linked pistes and with a variety of terrain to suit both skiers/boarders of all abilities. The wonderful views of Mont Blanc and the lovely tree lined pistes make this an area not to be missed. Les Carroz retains its authentic rustic charm and has a number of shops, restaurants and bars. There are also so many other winter activities to enjoy from snowshoeing to paragliding. Chalet Ascensus is a luxury extremely spacious renovated farmhouse chalet sleeping 16 people in 7 large bedrooms all with modern ensuites, Situated at 1000m altitude in a quiet hamet with a stream close by with view of the tree covered mountains and pods of the telecabin with both an indoor sauna and outdoor hot tub. Chalet Ascensus is located just 2 minutes from the main telecabin and centre of the village in our 8 seater minibus.All rooms are very large and are full head height! There is a huge and comfy lounge dining area with exposed stone walls, wooden floors and wood beams warmed by a great log fire. Double doors lead out to the main balcony and deck. Off the lounge, we have a kiddies/games room with large HDTV with UK and local channels, DVD player and MP3 docking station. With a large selection of DVDs and play games. Unlimited music on our Alexa. We aim to provide great hearty and tasty food using fresh local produce sourced from local suppliers which reflect the Area. We provide breakfast, afternoon tea and coffee served with a delicious freshly made cake and on 6 nights a 3 course dinner with unlimited house wines, beers and soft drinks. There is an honesty bar for thirsty guests! We also offer a high tea for children at an earlier time. We are happy to book the following services for you to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable:

• Transfers from Geneva airport, private or shared
• Ski passes for either Le Massif (145km of pistes) or Le Grand Massif (275km of pistes)
• Ski hire and other equipment
• Ski lessons in school or private

Well that was that! Our 9th winter season completed. Welcomed many new and returning guests to Chalet Ascensus. Hope you’ve all enjoyed it as much as Xavier and ourselves! Having stripped the beds and cleaned the chalet for the final time this winter we are sitting outside in the gorgeous sunshine reflecting on the past 4 months over an apero with pink champagne. Xavier and I thank you so much for your company and the laughs and we look forward to seeing you next winter…..

Chalet Ascensus - eventful morning. Transfer minibus parked up applied brake and put in first gear by the minibus continued to roll down our lane!! Fortunately the snow clearance tractor was able to pull it back up!
