It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing the news that I have had to make the difficult decision to close Chez Ruby’s doors permanently.

This decision was not made lightly. Despite the passion, care, and commitment poured into the business, ongoing challenges made it impossible to continue operating in a sustainable way or to the standard I expect for Chez Ruby.

As many small business owners know, success doesn’t exist in isolation. When collaboration and goodwill are lacking, and creativity isn’t always welcomed, it can create an environment that makes growth difficult — even when the demand is there.

To everyone who supported Chez Ruby, visited, shared kind words, and believed in what I was building: thank you. Your support has meant more than you know.

When life gives you lemons, make lemon curd 🍋 (which will be available to order!)
This isn’t the end — just a pivot. Watch this space for how I move the business forward. 😘

These little beauties have popped up in the garden, reminding me that even on the most miserable of winter mornings, Spring is around the corner 🪻🌷🥰

The café is open from 10 today, pop in and say hello. There's bacon, sausage or egg butties on offer, plenty of hot drinks and, yes, there's still some cake! When it's gone, it's gone 🙃

Ces petites merveilles ont fait leur apparition dans le jardin, me rappelant que même lors des matins d'hiver les plus maussades, le printemps n'est jamais loin.🥰💐🪻

Le café est ouvert dès 10h aujourd'hui, passez nous dire bonjour ! Au menu : sandwichs au bacon, à la saucisse ou aux œufs, un grand choix de boissons chaudes et, oui, il reste encore du gâteau. Premier arrivé, premier servi ! 🙃

Hello all ! The coffee shop is open tomorrow through sunday if you'd like to come say hi, hang out with loved ones or just have a moment away from home and its duties 😝 I'd be happy to give you time and space to unwind, and put food in your tummies !

We're still experimenting with the menu; this weekend we're making egg, sausage and/or bacon butty; as well as beans or egg on toast! Our globally-acclaimed crumpets are also coming back 😉

What's your favourite indulgent weekend snack? Maybe it'll end up on our menu...

Bonjour tout le monde ! Le café est ouvert de demain à dimanche si vous avez envie de venir découvrir, vous poser avec vos amis ou votre famille, ou juste avoir un moment hors de la maison et des responsabilités 😝 Je serais ravie de vous offrir un moment de détente, et de ravir vos papilles!

Nous expérimentons encore avec le menu; ce weekend, nous proposons des sandwiches moelleux aux oeufs, à la saucisse et/ou au bacon; ainsi que des haricots blancs à la sauce tomate avec des toasts, so british! Très appréciés le weekend dernier, nos crumpets (sorte de pancake salé) seront aussi de la partie 😉

Et vous, quelle est votre gourmandise préférée? Peut-être finira-t-elle à la carte...
