We’re so excited to welcome you to the very first Autumn Market at Château de la Carrière!

Come and spend a beautiful autumn day at the château, discovering wonderful local makers and producers, shopping, tasting, eating and enjoying the atmosphere. 🍁

We’re right in the middle of hosting a group here at the château — as you can see, Suzie is busy getting dinner on the table! 👩‍🍳✨

With Château DIY Australia hitting Australian screens this Friday, we thought it was the perfect time to share our remaining dates for 2027 château stays.

Yes — you can actually come and stay with us! ❤️

Choose a beautiful room in the Château with your own private ensuite bathroom, our self-contained 3-bedroom Guesthouse, or L’Appartement — our cosy self-contained one-bedroom option.

We’re so excited to share that Château DIY Australia is coming to Channel 9 — and Château de la Carrière will be featured in the very first episode! 🏰✨

So, to all our Australian friends, past guests and followers who have been asking when you’ll finally be able to watch us from home… this one’s for you!

✨ And that’s a wrap on another very special week at the château…

Last week we welcomed our 16th stitching group in four years! 🧵🪡

What an incredible achievement for Margaret & Judy — quite simply, the Taylor Swifts of the stitching world 😂✨ We absolutely love having these two back at the château, and seeing familiar faces returning alongside new ones makes each week feel even more special.

The weather was glorious — warm September days, long lunches and dinners outside, plenty of stitching, plenty of talking, stories shared around the table and, as always, a few more château memories added to the collection.

And we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful Jane, who gave us the best last-minute surprise by flying in from Greece to help us. ❤️

Life at the château is also currently a little sweeter thanks to Orlando, our young volunteer and newly appointed “Gâteau Guy” 🎂 — keeping us very well supplied in the cake department!

Four years, 16 groups, hundreds of stitches, countless meals around the table, friendships made and so many memories.

Thank you Margaret, Judy and everyone who keeps coming back and making these weeks what they are.

And just like that…

into the next group we go! 🏰✨

Petit rappel : le Château de la Carrière ne sera pas ouvert au public ce dimanche 20 septembre pour les Journées du Patrimoine.

Le château reste un lieu privé, ouvert à nos hôtes, ateliers et événements sur réservation. 🏰🌿

A little reminder that Château de la Carrière will not be open to the public this Sunday, 20 September for Heritage Days.

The château remains a private home, welcoming guests, workshops and events by reservation. 🏰🌿

The last week of summer at the château… and summer is definitely not giving up just yet. ☀️

The temperatures are still high, the pool is still calling, and we have some lovely guests here celebrating a very special 60th birthday. 🥂

And, just in time for the celebrations, we’ve welcomed our newest volunteer, Orlando — master of cake making! 🎂 His timing couldn’t have been better, arriving just in time to create the most fabulous birthday cat cake. 🐈‍⬛🎂

The water restrictions are still in place, so the garden is feeling the heat a little — but the potager is having its moment. Tomatoes, aubergines, melons and cucumbers are absolutely thriving. 🍅🍆🍈🥒 And out in the orchard, the quinces are slowly ripening, waiting patiently for their moment.

What a summer it’s been. Busy, hot, colourful, sometimes completely bonkers… and wonderful all at the same time.

Most of all, we’re grateful for all the fabulous people who have come through our gates, shared our tables, swum in our pool, laughed, celebrated and made this summer so memorable.

One last stretch of summer magic before autumn arrives. 🌿☀️🥂

Last night at the Château… 🌙✨

What a night to remember.

Under the Mayenne sky, our group from The Mint Gardener, led by the wonderful Sarah Simon, took a little break from watercolours to experience the solar eclipse together.

A huge thank you to Mayenne Tourisme and ici Mayenne Radio for gifting us a safe way to watch this incredible moment. Eclipse glasses on, everyone outside, eyes to the sky… 🌘

One of those unexpected Château moments that makes a week here even more special — creativity, new friendships, warm summer nights and a little celestial magic thrown in.

We won’t forget this one. ✨
