WICM Womens International Club Méditerranée We offer friendship, mutual support and cultural exchange through our monthly meetings, group activities. "Building bridges, Jeter des ponts".

Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 14-20 October.
New films include Leviticus; The film blends q***r coming-of-age drama with psychological horror, exploring themes of shame, prejudice, and survival. Malfaisante, a horror, where an entity with the form of her mother, lives in a cupboard in a young girl’s room. Things become more and more concerning….. There is an opera, Macbeth, in 4 acts by Verdi. The golden oldie is Little Big Man.

WICM Sucré Salé - 26 October

Sally has offered to host the next Sucré Salé lunch at 12h30 on Monday 26th October at her home in Roujan.

Maximum 10 - first come, first served.

For those of you have not come before, everyone brings a dish to share and Sally will provide drinks, cutlery, plates, seating etc etc.

Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 7-13 October.
A couple of new films this week, Eruption, about a convoluted relationship that only seems to come together when there is a volcanic eruption (in English and Polish); The social reckoning which explores how someone might go about exposing social media in a drama; and NAZA, which is a documentary about the use of AI in weapons, especially in the Israeli military. Continuing are: Primetime; Sense and sensibility; Digger; The heart of the Beast: Verity; Les Contrabandiers: and Primetime. The golden oldies are Hair and La Cirque with Charlie Chaplin.

WICM Anglo-French club - Thursday October 15th
We will be very happy to welcome you on Thursday, October 15th for our Anglo French get-together, to be held at 10 am at the Calypso bar in Florensac, as usual. Come along and share lots of fun over coffee or whatever!

WICM - October visit - 16th October
Liz reports that for some time she has driven past a building with the sign - Parfums Marty near St. Thibéry and has always wanted to know more. So, for our October visit, we are going to find out!

They will do a guided visit of their premises; they make drinks and syrups as well as perfumes; on October 16th starting at 10.00.

The visit is open to friends and partners, and if we are more than 30, it's free, if we are less than that there will be a small fee - which I will confirm once we have the final total.

Please let Liz know by October 8th.

WICM October meeting
Just a little reminder of our next WICM meeting on Thursday October 8th at 14-30 in our usual place - Maison pour Tous, Florensac. Our speaker will be Ashley Adams, a TV Executive producer who, with her partner, bought a château near Bordeaux and renovated it; and she will tell us all about her experience. If you have ever seen the Channel 4 series it should be absolutely fascinating. Friends and partners welcome.

New films include Primetime, where a tv journalist sets up sting operations to catch paedophiles but uses questionable methods to boost ratings- a psychological thriller; Digger – a barely recognisable Tom Cruise plays the most powerful man in the world who races to prove he is humanity's savior before the disaster he unleashed destroys everything – a black comedy; Verity – a psychological erotic thriller where a bestselling author has had an accident and is unable to write, another writer is brought into the house to finish the book series, but she discovers a disturbing manuscript. Cotinuing are Heart of the Beast, Resident Evil, Pressure (Brilliant film) Les Ensorceleuses (Feelgood) Raison et Sentiments, L’Invitation and Avengers endgame.

Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 23-29 September.
Two new films – the heart of the beast, with Brad Pitt – after crash landing in the Alaskan wilderness, he and his combat dog have to survive the elements; Avengers endgame extended- by 4 minutes on the 2019 film with new post credit teaser, so not strictly new. Sense and sensibility, The odyssey, resident evil, The invite, Les Contrabandiers (The Weight – good well paced thriller/drama), Pressure and The Dog Stars all continue. The golden oldies and Trainspotting and One flew over the cuckoo’s nest. Something for everyone.
