Hello everybody, Time for another post from Café Lilian. First, may I please silence the rumour mill once again by saying that Café Lilian has not been sold nor is it even for sale. We are open for business at our published hours 10:30 a.m to 15: 30 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday inclusive.
Now for the more pleasant stuff. As we say goodbye to Summer and welcome the Autumn, we have started our seasonal lunchtime specials. Our cottage pie and our sausage casserole were both well received last week and we are starting this week with a Beouf bourguignon on Sunday. All our normal menu choices will still be available of course, including our delicious cakes.
Please don't forget that we do get very busy at times, so, if you're coming from a distance or you want a specific time for a table, please contact us by phone or WhatsApp (0772036599).
As always thank you to all those who make our working week such a pleasure by coming to see us and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

Bonjour à tous, voici un nouveau message du Café Lilian.
Tout d'abord, permettez-moi de mettre fin aux rumeurs : le Café Lilian n'a pas été vendu et n'est d'ailleurs pas à vendre. Nous sommes ouverts aux horaires habituels, de 10h30 à 15h30, du dimanche au mercredi inclus. Passons maintenant aux choses plus agréables. Alors que nous disons adieu à l'été et accueillons l'automne, nous proposons nos plats du jour de saison. Notre hachis parmentier et notre ragoût de saucisses ont été très appréciés la semaine dernière, et nous commençons cette semaine avec un bœuf bourguignon dimanche. Bien sûr, tous les plats de notre carte habituelle restent disponibles, y compris nos délicieux gâteaux.
N'oubliez pas que nous sommes parfois très fréquentés ; si vous venez de loin ou si vous souhaitez réserver une table à une heure précise, veuillez nous contacter par téléphone ou WhatsApp au 0772036599.
Comme toujours, merci à tous ceux qui rendent notre semaine de travail si agréable en venant nous voir, et nous espérons vous revoir très bientôt.

Good evening everybody,
As this week draws to a close, may we thank all those, old and new, who came into Café Lilian this week and made it such an enjoyable, albeit tiring week. It was lovely to see you all.
Sadly we must announce that Café Lilian will be closed for the following week for unavoidable reasons.
We will reopen with our regular hours on Sunday 13th September and we look forward to welcoming you again.
Just a reminder, we have recently been very busy and have regrettably had to turn some people away due to lack of tables, which we hate doing, so if you are looking to join us at a specific time or, if you're travelling any distance, please phone, whatsapp, sms or fb message us for a reservation.
In the meantime, as always, stay safe, be happy and we look forward to seeing you.

Good morning all,
We hope you are all well and enjoying the cooler weather, a bit of rain overnight would not go amiss though!
Just a quick reminder for those we have spoken to and a "heads up" for those we haven't that Café Lilian will be closed for the next four days for a very much needed break.
We will reopen on Sunday 30th with our normal hours and menu which will of course include our delicious English breakfasts and all the other delights that you've come to know us for.

Hi Everyone, just a quick post let you all know that with the extreme heat once again forecast for tomorrow (Weds 12th August) we have decided that it is too dangerous to have our kitchen operating and so regrettably Café Lilian is going to be closed for the day.
We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience this may cause but we will be reopening as usual at 10:30 on Sunday 16th August with all your usual favourites available. The last few Sundays have been pretty busy so reservations are recommended if you're travelling any distance or want a specific time or party size.

Hi all, as another week begins we hope you have all come through the heatwave and subsequent storm unscathed.
Last week was unbearably hot as I'm sure I don't need to tell you. The air conditioning was certainly working hard here at Café Lilian and we were able to open every day and what a delight it was to see so many of you.
As the summer progresses it will no doubt remain warm so we have decided to put in an ice cream display freezer and have stocked it with a range of ice creams and lollies to suit all tastes. So, if you're feeling hot or just fancy a cold treat do come in and see us and what we have to offer.

Good afternoon everybody,
We hope that you're all keeping cool and staying well hydrated during this spell of exceptional weather we're having.
A reminder that our café is air conditioned to keep you ( and us ) comfortably cool.
As summer rolls on we are introducing, from tomorrow, a Sandwich menu to complement our normal menu. It offers a selection of cold and hot sandwiches to eat in or take away for those times when it's perhaps too hot for a full meal but a tasty snack is just the thing that's needed. Any of our sandwiches can be accompanied with a milkshake, with a choice of three flavours, an iced coffee, or, an ice cold soft drink from our wide range. Not forgetting a slice of cake of course.

A quick request if we may ?
We have a customer who is looking to get hold of three different balls, a golf ball, a baseball or cricket ball and, probably the biggest challenge, a ten pin bowling ball.
If anyone has one of these to loan donate or maybe sell please give us a call.

Hi to all of our customers and friends, a quick reminder that, despite being forcibly closed by the inconsiderate sitting of the funfair at the weekend which completely blocked access to the café, with no consultation, notification or apology, we are open with our normal hours once more. (10:30 - 15:30 Sunday to Wednesday inclusive) Join us for a meal, a snack or just a tea/coffee and home baked cake.
Thanks go out as always to all those who support us and make it a pleasure to run the café.

Good morning all, time for a quick update. First may we thank all of those who have supported us since we re opened following our enforced extended shutdown over the Christmas period. It's been lovely to see you all.
We hope you will be pleased to know that we are still making lunchtime specials, with today's being Chicken stroganoff.😋.
Sadly I have to tell you that for personal reasons we must close next week from Sunday 22nd until Wednesday 25th March. We reopen with our normal hours on Sunday 29th March after our normal "off days"
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this unavoidable closure and hope to see you all again soon.
In the meantime enjoy the spring weather and beautiful spring flowers.

Hi all, now that we've settled back into our normal routine after the madness of Christmas and new year, may I say it's been lovely to welcome so many of you back.
A bit of news is that we have had our windows decorated. We are very pleased with how it looks, why not come by and take a look and, if the mood takes you, stop for a tea,coffee or a bite to eat.......or just pop your head in and say hello😊

Hi all, high time for a post and an update. First of all, a happy new year to all our customers and friends, past, present and future.
Those who follow us will know that we've been closed for a while. That period is, happily, nearing an end and we will be reopening on Sunday 25th January and serving all our favourite menu choices as well as a few surprises.
We would like to thank all of you for your support over the past year and we look forward to welcoming friends and customers old and new to Café Lilian in the coming year.
