Please note that there will be no lunch service on Monday and Tuesday.

Starting on Wednesday, Café Proosa will be taking a summer break throughout July.

During July, the café will remain available exclusively for events held at Vaasa Main Library and for library catering services.

"Café Proosa will be closed during July for regular daily operations.

However, the café will remain available for library events, private bookings, meetings and catering services throughout the month. Organizers interested in arranging catering or opening the café for a specific event are welcome to contact:

Café Proosa will resume its normal opening hours and regular activities on August 1st.

Spanish Conversation Sessions at Café Proosa

After the summer, Café Proosa will begin hosting Spanish conversation sessions under my guidance.

Our focus will be simple: speaking Spanish. We will learn by talking, making mistakes, laughing, and discovering that errors are often the best teachers.

My background as a lawyer, poet and musician has shown me that language is much more than grammar. It is culture, stories, music, humor and human connection. Together we will explore the rich cultures of Spain, Latin America and, of course, my home country, Argentina.

This will not be just another language class. My goal is to create a different kind of experience: relaxed, engaging, cultural and fun.

A Call to Artists, Writers and Creators in Vaasa

Café Proosa, located inside the Vaasa Main Library, would like to invite local artists to become part of a growing cultural project.

Poets, writers, musicians, painters, photographers and creators of all artistic disciplines are warmly welcome to share their ideas and projects with us.

We are especially interested in supporting poets and writers who would like to present their work, read their texts, or connect with new audiences through the library and café community.

Cafe Proosa opening hours:

Our regular opening hours are Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 17:00.

However, Café Proosa is part of a vibrant cultural environment, and we may sometimes open earlier, stay open later, or welcome guests on Saturdays to support special events and activities at the library.

When I arrived in Finland, I never imagined that one day I would have the opportunity to operate a café inside the Vaasa Main Library.

I am grateful to Ilkka-Pohjalainen for sharing my story and the story of Café Proosa.
