Ravintola tarjoaa suomalaisista huippuraaka-aineista valmistettua korkean käsityöasteen ruokaa. Gunnar Finne

Johan Gunnar Finne (1886–1952) oli tuottelias ja monitaitoinen kuvanveistäjä. Hän opiskeli sekä arkkitehtuuria, että sisustus­arkkitehtuuria, m***a keskittyi kuvanveistoon opettajansa Armas Lindgrenin suosituksesta. Hänen uraansa vaikuttivat voimakkaasti Suomen itsenäistyminen ja sitä seur

anneet yhteiskunnan muutok­set. Gunnar Finne, kuten monet aikalaisensa, reagoi yhteiskun­nallisiin muutoksiin järjestäytymällä; hän oli mm. mukana perustamassa Suomen Koristetaiteilijoiden Liittoa Ornamoa vuonna 1911 ja toimi järjestön alkutaipaleella sen puheenjohtajana. Järjestötoiminnan lisäksi Finne opetti nuoria kykyjä Taideteollisuuskeskuskoulussa ja Teknillisessä korkeakoulussa. Gunnar Finne suunnitteli itse työtilansa Arkadiankatu 14:n kiinteistön kivijalkaan. Vaatimat­tomaksi ja suorapuheiseksi mieheksi luonnehdittu Finne oli työssään uuden etsijä ja kokeilija. Häntä työllistivät etenkin patsaat, sankarimuistomerkit ja erilaiset julki- ja sisätilojen reliefit. Töistä merkittävimpinä pidetään Topeliuksen Taru ja Totuus –muistomerkkiä Esplanadin puistossa ja Eduskuntatalon rakennusorna­mentiikkaa.

Midsummer week is here! We are open until Thursday and closed from 19.6.-22.6. Hope to see you before midsummer or welcome again next week ❣️

PS. Our house bread is made with Hilda, our 10-year-old sourdough starter, using organic flours from Malmgård — wheat, rye and emmer. The dough is cold-fermented for 24 hours before baking and served with whipped butter that changes with the season: sometimes herbs, sometimes browned butter.

And for dessert… our liquorice crème brûlée is definitely worth saving room for.

Served as a snack, in our new menu you can find deep-fried potato gratin croquette, Comte and Gruyere cheese and dill emulsion served with Finnish whitefish roe. Yum!
