Tartine´s closing generated a lot of discussion and some of the news published in the press are incomplete or a bit misleading, so let´s clarify!
We did not close because we were too popular, it´s a bit more complicated than that. We had to close because our premises and material were not adapted to producing big amounts of french pastries for which the demand suddenly exploded, while the rest of our activity (café and lunch) was heavily impacted by the Covid situation. We were unfortunately not able to find new premises on time to develop the baking activity and the situation was becoming unsustainable.
We do not know yet at all if/when and how we can return but our team will try their best after the sanitary situation becomes more stable.
We hope you will all understand the reasons behind our decision and we thank you, again, for your massive support!
