Hello dear friends! For tomorrow the Igloo Café is going to be closed. It is too windy and despite of skiing week holidays it is still Friday. I am going to be there Saturday and Sunday and I am afraid these two days will be last ones. If you want still to get unusual experience have coffee at the only Café in the world in the middle of frozen sea you're welcome Sat-Sun 13.03 - 14.03 12-17

Hello my dear friends! I need some rest! After fighting with weather and snow I need some free day. The mother nature is always full of surprises. Today we had water under snow in many places on the way to Igloo Café. After arriving to the place we spent almost whole day of cleaning the inside yard. Therefore I take may day off (I'm allowed to do so, I guess ☺️) tomorrow,

Monday 8th of March.
Igloo Café will be closed!!!

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday open 12- 17 and I suspect it will be the only possible days to enjoy coffee at open frozen sea. Unfortunately, it's getting very warm and the Igloo is already melting. Catch your last chance!

The last visitors of Igloo Café.

Everyone's welcome next weekend! I would like to thank those people who helped me to make fire and set up chairs and tables! Let's hope for best weather. And I also want to mention that this is kind of unusual and unique place in the middle of frozen sea and in order to organize things working requires me a lot of efforts. So I beg your pardon if something does not meet your expections. The main purpose of this place is to make people forget of daily routine, troubles, come here and enjoy nature and coffee. Think you all who share the same thoughts! Respectfully, Dmitry

Hello everyone!
I am planning to open Igloo Cafe beginning from tomorrow every weekend FRI-SUN 12.00-17.00 or till the sunset. The location is Haukipudas, Kiiminkijoki river's mouth near the lighthouse (majakka). It is visible from the parking place. I might be there also during the week time but am not sure. All depends on weather. Disclaimer: since the café place is located on the open sea the travelling there has some risks . Low temperatures, sometimes deep snow, strong wind. From the parking place at the local fishing harbor it is about 1 km to ski/walk there. Be ready for that. If you feel you can't- think twice. Otherwise this journey might be fun! In the end you may prize yourself at least with the cup of coffee or tea.

Good afternoon everyone! The global warming and climate change finally come to our places. Yesterday I have checked out the ice and snow situation and unfortunately it looked like there would be no opportunity to build Igloo Cafe this season. I feel very unhappy since I cannot do anything about it. Hopefully, the next winter will be different.
