Metuchen Disco Soup brought our community together to turn rescued food into local action.
Together, we rescued 373.4 lbs of fresh produce, served 266 bowls of soup, supported 40 food pantry clients with leftover soup and fresh produce, composted 77.1 lbs of food scraps, welcomed 150 attendees, mobilized 50 volunteers, and worked with 10 partner organizations. Most importantly, zero rescued food was sent to trash.
Now we’re asking residents, local businesses, and community partners to keep the momentum going.
By signing this pledge, you are saying:
“I want to reduce my own food waste, and I want local businesses and government to do the same.”
Small actions matter: planning meals, using leftovers, freezing food before it spoils, sharing safe surplus food, and composting unavoidable scraps can all help reduce food waste in Metuchen.
Sign the pledge, join the movement!
