Tomorrow, Saturday will be exactly seven years ago to the day, that Nick walked through our doors and never really left. Not in the way that matters, anyway. He became part of the fabric of this place, woven into every shift, every morning rush, every quiet moment between the chaos that makes Little Fern what it is.
Over the years, Nick has been so much more than a team member. He’s been a steady presence, a familiar face, a reason so many of you kept coming back. The kind of person who remembered your order, your name, and somehow always knew when you needed a little extra warmth with your coffee. Some of you probably came for Nick more than the flat white. We’re cool with that.
Tomorrow is his last shift, and if you want to give him a proper send-off, come by on Saturday. Hugs very much welcome, tears accepted. But don’t be too devastated about it. He lives just around the corner, so you’ll no doubt bump into him before long with Coco leading the charge and completely ignoring him, as dogs do. 🐾
To everyone in the neighbourhood, to anyone who has shared a moment with Nick across the counter, you were part of his story here too, and he was undoubtedly part of yours.
Thank you, Nick. For the seven years, for the countless mornings, for everything seen and unseen. You will be missed by this team and this community more than you know. 🌿🤍
