Almohalla 51 is hidden away without being isolated – the hotel borders the wooded hillside that rises above the town of Archidona but is just moments from the main plazas, bars and restaurants. Behind the whitewashed façade there are communal sitting rooms with open fires, shaded patios, landscaped terraces and a plunge pool. Outside the seating areas are perfect for breakfasting on freshly prepared fruit, juices and eggs or enjoying sundowners. Each of our five individually-designed bedrooms combines traditional features with modern comforts. The furnishings – a rich mix of antique and modern – and linen have been sourced from around the world.

I haven’t posted for a little while… because we’ve been SO busy! 😅
And looking back through my photos, I realise it’s absolutely full of happy people and happy moments ❤️
Groups of people coming together at Almohalla 51 to celebrate birthdays, annual reunions, music nights and simply being together with friends and family.
We’ve also shared in the annual celebrations of the Virgen de Gracia, with the whole town coming together, while over in Iznájar I was privileged to be part of Campestre Art exhibition, exhibiting my ceramic birds 🦢
So this post is really about community — the joy of people coming together, celebrating, sharing experiences and making memories.
And it doesn’t stop here!
The next couple of months are fully booked with yoga groups, old friends reuniting, more birthdays and plenty more gatherings. In fact, it feels like there’s one happy get-together after another at Almohalla 51! 🥂☀️
Almohalla 51 is, quite simply, a very happy place. ❤️

I haven’t posted for a little while… because we’ve been SO busy! 😅
And looking back through my photos, I realise it’s absolutely full of happy people and happy moments ❤️

Thank you to everyone, friends and family who came along to support myself and the 10 other wonderful artists, last night at Hotel Caserío, Iznájar. Held in aid of the charity Age in Spain.
The exhibition continues (for free) until 18 September when there is an auction of work.

🇪🇸 Things that happen in Spain in August…! ☀️💃🐈
It’s been a busy one at Almohalla 51!
We’ve entertained our lovely guests with fabulous eclipses, ferias, flamenco, sunshine, ceramic classes… and kittens! 🐈😂
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, there’s been plenty of cleaning, scrubbing, pool maintenance and keeping the house ship-shape ready for the next group of guests!. 🧹🧽💦
And somehow, we’ve even managed to squeeze in a little time for ourselves — with family, sightseeing, fantastic food and making ceramics. 🚶‍♀️🍷🚴‍♂️🏺
Whew!!! 😅
It’s a pretty full-on life, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️
