The Captain’s Cup at Lo Romero 17th June:-
The eagerly awaited highlight of the year was finally with us and we had a lovely day for it.
There was a lovely atmosphere as we gathered at Lo Romero with all in an upbeat and optimistic mood.
We were treated to the most amazing cakes with our coffees made by Jackie ‘Top Cook’ O’Brien.
Thank you Jackie they were fabulous.
With there being a lot of water on the course Adrian Kelly with his H & S background put some protection measures in place by issuing Claudia with some blow up armbands - pink of course. 😂
The greens having been hollow tinned two weeks ago were back to their usual lightening speed LOOK OUT 👀
With it being the big day there were also a number of extra prizes added for the presentation. 👍
So we made good time and most managed a relaxing drink on the terrace while the two Doctors joined by Professor Kelly worked on the scores.
So all donned their best dresses and shirts for the big night at Leonardo’s.
The food as always was outstanding So after the meal the proceedings got underway.
We started by paying tribute to John & Michele with them having sold McCoys and planning to spend more time in Ireland. As we would have imagined they received an incredible standing ovation 👏
Just to mention the nominated ‘ Captain’s Charity’.
All will recall in memory of Brenda Dynes the charity is The Raynaud’s & Scleroderma Society.
In total the amount raised was €2,000. Absolutely Amazing. Thank you all - you generous lot 👏
