Inspirations
The name el Bawabat is derived from the Arabic word `Gateways or Doors. The choice for branding this "Bawabat" is the founder believes there are many Gateways, paths or doors to reach other levels of creativity and freedom. Most of which we fear to take and usually turn back to our comfort zones. Accordingly, we never evolve... In this day and age, we don't have the time to be fully connected and in touch with any of our four corners of our selves (body, mind, soul, and namely the heart) except the mind and… to a limited extent. At Bawabat, we want visitors to sit back, remember that they have a heart, a body to nourish and mostly a soul that needs to every now and then be filled will stillness and silence. A cleansing of their souls is what they should feel leaving or coming through Bawabat. At Bawabat we combine Sustainable Tourism, Organic Agriculture and Education to offer a mind opening experience that has positive impact on the local environment, culture and community. Community participation is welcome, art and music will be in the heart of all what we do. But the stem of everything we do starts from a seed, a seed of love, nature. The project is on 17 fadans (expansion is expected) just 20 minutes from the Cairo / Alexandria gateway. At Bawabat, we want visitors share in building a community, where they will farm, teach children to love nature, feel the plants, play out in the outdoors where love and nature are a ample to nature growth and development. There is a rest house/ or an Egyptian Dawar/ lodge , a recreation (meditation, yoga, dance room…), olive fields, an aqua farm to come and finally open space for reading and meditation. The challenge is not to afford, it is to help visitors explore the extremes of the four corners of themselves and live! Through these Gateways;…at “Bawabat”, we want visitors to know their purpose, and to let go to love, freedom and visit the other universe of our souls that we miss in this day and age.. Bawabat; Egyptian Gateways to other worlds...is a project built around nature, music, body movement, literature, food, school visits for generations to think nature and the universe ...
The project is centred around farming, recreation and dance, an eco-lodge is on its way for those who need to stay over.
