The same color shown through the many vibrant expressions that linseed oil paint has to offer. Here seen on different parts of the historic building Badensminde at in the colour 60 / Caput Mortum.
Linseed oil painted surfaces have the advantage of preserving the wood’s natural ability to release moisture.
This allows moisture to move out of the timber without the paint peeling or creating conditions for early wood rot — while at the same time, the linseed oil paint protects the surface from rain and the pigments from the sun.
The advantage of linseed oil painted surfaces ageing in this way is that, over time, the surface becomes increasingly breathable. At the same time, it significantly reduces the preparation work required before repainting, as thin layers of linseed oil paint rarely peel.
