Meet Aimé, Night Shift Barceptionist at Comfort Hotel Helsinki Airport 👋
Aimé’s journey as a Barceptionist began in 2022. When a brand-new Comfort Hotel opened at Helsinki Airport in 2024, she didn’t hesitate to apply.
She initially worked day shifts, but quickly discovered that early mornings weren’t quite her thing. Then she tried the night shift and found exactly where she belonged. For Aimé, genuine hospitality is about much more than simply doing your job.
“It requires flexibility, teamwork and being yourself without compromising professionalism. Taking genuine care of guests isn’t just about greeting them with a smile. It starts with having a supportive culture behind the scenes.”
She describes a close-knit team that stays longer when someone needs help, communicates openly and makes even the busiest nights feel manageable. They support one another and never let anyone face a challenge alone.
“What I love about working with people is that every day is different. I enjoy chatting with guests, meeting their furry companions and even laughing together when a language barrier leads to creative hand gestures and silly Google translations.”
Outside of work, Aimé has a creative side. She grew up playing the violin, has danced everything from hip-hop to K-pop and expresses her deepest thoughts through poetry.
But the person who means the most to her is her little sister, Arcenciel, French for rainbow.
“She came into my life like a rainbow after a storm. She has supported me through everything, from my final exams and studies in hotel management to my first steps with Strawberry. She is my best friend, my biggest supporter and my whole world.”
And Aimé’s Helsinki recommendation? Dinner and drinks at Brasserie Nòr, overlooking Helsinki Airport from the 12th floor, followed by a visit to Suomenlinna, Oodi Library or the Old Market Hall.
Her General Manager, Jorma recently shared a moment that perfectly captures Aimé’s care:
“When an elderly guest suffered a medical emergency, Aimé provided first aid and called an ambulance. She later arranged transport for his wife and visited them at the hospital with clean clothes and snacks. Her compassion and dedication went far beyond what anyone could expect.”
We’re so happy that the night shift brought you to exactly where you belong, Aimé. 💛
