After 7 great years, Kafeteria lead by Frederik Bille Brahe, and renowned for exciting and unexpected museum gastronomy along with baked goods from our micro bakery, will close from September 1st, 2025.
We achieved more than we ever dared to expect and are thankful for all the visits from our wonderful guests from near and far, and our life within the treasured national art gallery, Statens Museum for Kunst.
“It has been fun working so closely with our national treasures in a house filled with history. Surrounded by art, we were inspired to always dig deeper and reach higher, to create a distinct green gastronomical language that will live beyond Kafeteria”, says Frederik Bille Brahe.
We believe in this green gastronomy: honest, organic and local produce, and are looking forward to an even brighter future with new creative projects that are to be announced later this year.
Created in 2018 in close collaboration with artist Danh Vo, Kafeteria bridged art and gastronomy with a desire to transform the perception of a museum café into a destination in itself, truly aligned with the artistic spirit and ambitions of its host, SMK.
We thank all contributors, collaborators, suppliers and our amazing team and wish our friends at SMK all the best with their new venture.
Thank you!
