Das Gift has always been more than a bar.

Gift’ed is an extension of that belief — thirteen artists, showing in pairs across thirteen weeks, each bringing work that dreams, fragments, observes, and rebuilds.

From portraiture as empathy to screenshots of the distant future. From fragile bodies assembled from textile trash to paintings that find the extraordinary in the details of everyday life. This is art that disturbs, provokes, and connects.

We are proud to offer this platform to these artists, and proud to remain a space where the local, the international, and the communal can share a room.

it starts today. our first vernissage is tonight from 17:00 — come down, have a drink, and see what we’ve been building.

All shows are free. All are welcome.

🎨 Karny

Karny’s work is an exploration of the portrait as a medium. The gestures and marks absorb the subject as if the drawing itself has an unconscious form of empathy. A refraction of an interpersonal relationship and its dynamics. When the portrait has no subject, the artwork becomes more explosive in the expression: a challenge to capture the radiating environment perhaps? Paintings are occasionally accompanied by poetry, which harness the same turned-on-its-head representational story-telling.
