📚🤩 📑 We are very excited to announce the beginning of a new series we will be hosting at Yalla! The Book Club is a bi-weekly critical thinking workshop founded and hosted by George Rallis (they/them) 𝕲𝖊𝖔𝖗𝖌𝖊 𝕽𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖎𝖘 . This iteration of the BC will be in collaboration with the Q***r Collective Q***r Collective , starting from the 23rd of September 2026.
📌 The BC’s central aim is for accessibility to academic theory and philosophy on a communal, casual and approachable way. Theory will be viewed as a practical tool for surviving social life, and approached in a q***r, deconstructed and decolonized way. Each workshop’s topic and reading material will be announced and made available prior to each meeting date. Each session will be in English and comprised of a 1h presentation followed by a 30’’ - 1h open discussion. Studying the material in advance is not mandatory yet highly recommended.
🖇️ The workshop has taken place before in Tapper Bar (Limassol, CY), Drive Drive and NIMAC (Nicosia, CY), Communitism and Romantzo (Athens, GR) and most recently, at the University of the Arts Helsinki (FI).
