Meet our Morokanella from Dafermou Winery 🍇

The Morokanella grape is an indigenous white-grape varietal to Cyprus: and what we like to call the ‘phoenix grape’ due to her rarity and having risen from the ashes of near-extinction. The fruits are pale, with golden-green skins that take on a warm blush when ripe - like a flicker of flame. 🔥

It produces wines with a pronounced but elegant, aromatic profile. Wines which are heavier bodied in character, yet boast a crispy freshness.

Dafermous' Morokanella is a classic example of what this Cyprus grape has to offer: enveloping citrus and green fruits with warming, honeyed notes of quince and almond. A complex palette with an almost romantic nose.

Part of our refreshed Wine Menu this wine is fast becoming one of our sell-outs. Well paired with white cheeses like our Cheese Saganaki, and a fantastic partner to our Fresh Sea Bream.

Reservations are essential with the growing numbers each week. Don’t miss out.

For vegetarians, we offer a mushroom and leek, filo pastry pie with vegetarian gravy and for those that don’t eat beef, we can prepare a roasted 1/4 chicken.

Our aim is to keep as many of you happy as we can but it is essential to pre book all places so we can make our preparations.

All roasts come with our famous yellow Yorkshire puddings, made with our very own fresh, organic, naturally fed chickens eggs, fabulous roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The most delicious homemade gravy using all the meat juices and more!

Generous sides of cauliflower cheese and braised red cabbage are available as an extra. Perfect to share of if you are feeling extra hungry 🤤.

We are also running our main menu through the day so everyone can be catered for 👌

Invitation to Support the 2nd Aphrodite Half Marathon - Argaka Cheering Zones

Dear Fellow Citizens,

On Sunday, April 19th, our region will once again host the Aphrodite Half Marathon. Following last year's success, this year's event has grown significantly, welcoming over 1,300 runners from Cyprus and abroad.

The event features four distances: the Half Marathon (21.1km), the 10km Road Race, the 5km Fun Run, and the 1km Kids' Race. While all races start and finish at the Polis Chrysochous City Hall, the premier Half Marathon route will bring the athletes directly through the heart of our beautiful Argaka community.

The Course in Argaka: Runners will enter Argaka via the E704 coastal road. Upon reaching the ESSO service station, they will transition to the seafront path, heading towards the Santa Barbara Seafront Villas before turning back toward the finish line.

Join the Cheering Zones: The Deputy Mayor of Argaka, Mr. Spyros Pelopidas, warmly invites all residents to join us in welcoming the athletes. Your applause and encouragement provide the vital energy these runners need during their most difficult miles.

We have established two official "Cheering Zones" for residents to gather:

1. Fly Again Irish Pub & Grill

2. Santa Barbara Resto & Beach Bar

The first runners are expected to enter our community around 8:00 a.m., with the road remaining active until approximately 10:00 a.m.

Let's come together to showcase the famous hospitality of Argaka and help make this international event a memorable success for everyone.
