We roast coffee to let it shine.
A light roast is not about making coffee “lighter.” It is about giving exceptional coffee enough space to show what makes it special: fruit, florals, sweetness, acidity, clarity and origin character.
When coffee is roasted too dark, many of those details disappear into one familiar roasted taste. That can be comforting — but it can also hide what makes a lot truly unique.
At Nordico, we roast specialty coffee in Costa Rica with intention. For selected honey, natural and anaerobic lots, a light roast can reveal the farm, the process, the region and the hands behind the coffee with much more precision.
It is clean. It is expressive. It is alive.
And yes — light roast does not mean “less powerful.” It can feel brighter, more energetic and, depending on how it is brewed, can carry just as much character and caffeine as darker roasts.
