El Mono Feliz is a small hotel, bird haven, and gardens in the Southern Pacific Region of Costa Rica. There have been over 130 documented species of birds spotted in our gardens. We love this part of the country - so much that we bought the hotel in December 2020! We are taking what was already a great location, great gardens, and great hotel, and doing our best to weave in our own charm. Check out our photos on Facebook and on our website at www.elmonofeliz.com. We work hard to help our guests enjoy peace and tranquility in an environment that focuses on the guest experience. Whether you want to relax by the pool, stroll the grounds, go to the beach, or do one of many exciting tours and excursions nearby, we'll do everything we can to make your experience exceptional. Also, we are in the "Foodie Capital" of costa rica - known around the world as the highest per-capita ratio of wonderful and varied restaurants for visitors and residents alike. From authentic Italian cuisine to Indonesian food, to Asian Fusion to North American style fare... it's here... and it's great. Every restaurant in the area, our breakfast included, can cater wonderfully to vegetarians and vegans, too. While you're here, you'll enjoy tropical weather, flowers, and plants... as well as toucans, parrots, parakeets, and dozens of other birds - as well as occasional monkeys and more.
Our on site staff can help you select tours and day trips to help you get the most of your time here - doing things that you want to do. It would be our pleasure to help you have an incredible experience in this part of Costa Rica. Pura Vida! Brie and Claire
