Surrounded by jungle, this rustic-elegance lodge is a 7-minute walk from the Monteverde Orchid Garden and 5 km from the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. All the rooms include free Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, safes, and tea and coffeemaking equipment. Some have hammocks and garden terraces, while upgraded rooms add sophisticated decor, high ceilings and jungle-view balconies. Breakfast is served in a refined restaurant/bar with views to the gardens and a fireplace. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, butterfly and hummingbird gardens, massages and yoga space.

“My mom and I stayed here and from the beginning everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The restaurant staff especially Mateo and Jessica stood out with their kindness! The food was so delicious. The front desk people also helped us to reserve a night tour and they have a list of tours available with transportation. They also asked if we wanted to eat dinner after the tour and they made us feel like we were the only guests there, they even had the fire going. The room was clean and spacious with a nice creek view! It was so peaceful. The location is also close to everything. We would definitely stay again.”

"Family tranquility in Monteverde

We stayed at Monteverde Lodge for 3 nights; two adults and two children aged 8 and 9. For this duration the lodge was perfect. Bedrooms are immaculate with a lovely small balcony with a stream that runs past (if downstairs). The size of the rooms is modest for four guests and there was limited storage space for cases and clothes, but we managed. Breakfasts were exceptional (served à la carte). The pool is small but lovely & heated. There are only 31 rooms so it doesn’t feel busy. The hotel has two nature trails which is a nice touch & wildlife wanders the grounds. The hotel restaurant serves excellent food but is notably fairly expensive (although about right for Costa Rica, which is fairly pricey everywhere). We would definitely recommend the hotel."
