Meet Kainuku – our youngest team member at just 19, and an absolute legend!

By day, he’s front of house at The Lucky Rooster Eatery – serving smiles, coffee, and good vibes. By night, he’s training hard for Te Maeva Nui, proudly dancing for Vaka Toa – Arorangi as the Cook Islands gets ready to celebrate 60 years of self-governance.

This week, the festivities kick off with the float parade on Friday 25th July, and then it’s time for the big show at the auditorium. We couldn’t be prouder to have Kainuku as part of our crew – tired feet and all!

Pop in, say “Kia Orana” and wish him luck before he hits the stage.

Heading out for a TURTLE ADVENTURE TOUR? Or a swim around the lagoon….You never know where you might see a turtle swimming up beside you in Rarotonga. If you do - keep your distance and once you’ve enjoyed being in their presence get out your camera and take a couple snaps for research.

Why not explore with a different purpose. Become a CITIZEN SCIENTIST & assist - Just document any turtles you see around the island and send in your photos. This way we can track their movements and collect data in a non invasive way.

👍Have a read through these slides and follow the directions in the last picture.

Photos can be sent to Te Ipukarea Society, who then upload them to a pattern recognition software. This software package keeps track of new turtles being introduced to the database and old turtles already recorded in the database.

We love this ongoing initiative that everyone can participate in.

Our team are back in action… ready to serve you all your faves for breakfast, brunch and lunch at our refreshed eatery!
