ABOUT US
Kitu Kidogo is an exclusive holiday retreat tucked away in a coastal indigenous forest that has been around for centuries. It comprises of two beautiful cottages made out of coral, sandstone and wood showing off the various textures of the ancient Swahili coastline. Each cottage is dressed with intricately hand carved Lamu furniture, Rajhastani and South African soft furnishings and Afgha
ni and Ethiopian wool Rugs. The walls reflect our travels around the globe. Each wall piece has been carefully selected to fit in with the theme of the cottage giving the spaces an exotic but at the same time a harmonious look. The palm lamp shades highlight the beauty of each piece with its soft glow. What the cottage evokes is memories of the old Africa influenced by the spice trade route! Kitu Kidogo is ideal for families, groups and couples. If you are looking for comfort, style, privacy and personalized service then this is the perfect holiday home for you! COTTAGES
Kitu Kidogo in Swahili means “small things” which is a perfect way to refer to these self catering cozy cottages. The two cottages are called Firimbi (Whistle in Swahili) and Sahani (Plate in Swahili). Firimbi has two beautifully furnished bedrooms. Both rooms have air conditioners. It comes with its own outside entertainment area with a stainless steel barbeque grill. There is also a fully equipped kitchen to make scrumptious coastal cuisine. There are two hand made Ecuadorian hammocks tied to the casuarina poles which are perfect for lounging in during the hot day. There is a little concrete watering bowl tucked away close to the bush which attracts the indigenous coastal animals and watching them queue up to quench their thirst is a real treat. Sahani has one bedroom with an overhead and stand up fan. It also has a fully equipped kitchen. Although both cottages are rented on a self catering basis, we can throw in a chef to take the stress away from you. The chef can also do all your grocery shopping making your holiday even that more perfect. LOCATION
