KAIPO, a new comer roaster from Embrachertal, but the people behind it is no stranger to the swiss coffee community. Sandra Stucki is OG when it comes to Coffee in Good Spirits in Switzerland, she was Swiss Champion in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Kevin Rechsteiner made a documentation film about the people at the early age of specialty coffee scene in Switzerland. Both are big time Foodie and with Kaipo they aim to spread their fascination with the products.

They buy their green coffee exclusively from Finca Maputo, from Henry and Verena which they know personally and visit the Farm once a year since 2014.

Kaipo roasts their coffee with their 1kg Bullet Roaster every friday.

“We want to bring high quality coffee to consumers which is easy to brew and to adapt to. While looking after our planet, sourcing organic coffee only and serve a fully recyclable product. Our goal is to celebrate coffee hence what Balloon stands for, a symbol of celebration. Sharing and spreading the product we love so much while making specialty coffee approachable for consumers, through the colourful and positive brand we created, the organic coffee we source from producers that care, our fully recyclable packaging and the way we roast our coffee, sweet and balanced.”

The new kid on the block, roast every second Friday in Dielsdorf. Their roast days are visible on the website and the orders are send out after the next roast day or earlier depending on the stock. Our favourite is their Filter Roast of Wush Wush from Colombia, with its gentle apricot notes and orange blossom and delicate praline on a V60. Or if you’re more of an espresso type who crave for a long lasting darf chocolate notes try their ORBITER seasonal blend of washed Honduras and natural Ethiopia with a hint of dark cherry notes.
