On our latest trip to Thailand my GF's cousin Noth and his friend Aey.Pakorn invited us to Songkhla in the very south of Thailand near the Border to Malaysia and Singapore. The two took such a good care of us as temperatures were around 40 degrees.
One evening we drove a bit outside of the town to a very nice restaurant (Ban Tha Nang Hom) https://www.facebook.com/Khowdanghomdin/posts/-%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%B7%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%B5%E0%B9%88%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%A5%E0%B9%87%E0%B8%81%E0%B9%86%E0%B9%83%E0%B8%99%E0%B9%82%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%81%E0%B9%83%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%B5%E0%B9%89-%E0%B8%9A%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%97%E0%B9%88%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%A1-%E0%B8%96%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%B8%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B5%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B2%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%A8%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%A3%E0%B9%8C-%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%94%E0%B9%83%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%8D%E0%B9%88-%E0%B8%88%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%82%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%B2-%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%A5-/2468166083469802/?locale=es_LA,
turned out the owner is a Thai Rasta who has also a local reggae band.
Check one of his videos here:

Besides his Reggae and Rasta Backround, the food in his restaurant is really very delicious. Worth to stop by when ever you're near.
Overall the Hat Yai and Songkhla/Satun region is very interesting to visit because of the mix of cultures. Muslim, Buddists and Christians live in one peace. Lots of places to visit such as National Parks, Waterfalls or Dens.
