It’s BIG workshop time.
We talked about DnD a lot in Nerd Alert.

Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned storyteller, you know that this hobby is insanely hard. And all you want to do is tell a great story and have fun. True for DnD, true for Vampire, for PbtA; for everything.

Victor, a film-school-trained writer, an ex-creative marketer, and a passionate DM will teach you his method: game systems, balance, creative writing 101, how to work with players and build a playgroup, how to not burn out and make time even when you are working two jobs and have a whole lot of adult life to deal with.

Come and learn how to make your games the best they can be.

This one will be for 1000 CZK, drinks and food are included (one meal, 3 drinks + light snacks)

We opened it.🎁
We just couldn’t help ourselves. This HUGE box weighs 8 kg and is full of gorgeous arts and miniatures, and enough adventure for several gaming sessions.

✨The part we really liked: spells and conditions have ticking cooldowns just like in the game. You put a Frozen card on the monster and it jumps from slot to slot every turn as it thaws. Neat!

🫠The part we not sure we liked: the game is as difficult as Larian’s original, at least in the beginning. If you don’t cooperate and support each other you’ll lose.

🤝The part we loved: team work makes this game work.

If you want to check it out, don’t hesitate! The tutorial section on it’s is worthy of a gaming night, and if you want to continue, take pictures of the drawn cards, items and abilities, and pick it up an continue another day.

Just for the love of whatever your deity of choice is…put everything back in the box neatly. It took a good hour to sort and pack it properly

Nerd Alert has some new art❗ Come see❗

I. Several pieces by an illustrator and comic book artist Martin Sugar (), some referencing iconic comics and media, like Watchmen and Blade Runner and some are from his graphic novel Limbus.
Kindly given for display from a private collection. Not for sale!

II. The big dark piece at the top floor is Lichen Moth, by painter Ján Bátorek (). If you missed his BETONOVÝ OIDIPUS exhibit at naplavka this year, we are happy to give you another chance to see his work.

III. A few works donated by one of our first regular visitors Anastasiia Kniazeva (.kniazeva ). Find them on the top floor and in the Dungeon room.

If you want to put YOUR art on display here, don't hesitate to DM us. We can’t resist a good paining.

P.S. Not taking any good pictures of them is totally intentional.🥴 You just have to come check it out yourself now…

Thank you so much for helping Nerd Alert improve and assemble our wargaming terrain.
Thanks everyone who donated pieces, produced pieces and helped with building and assembling. The community support was overwhelming.

If you want to play Warhammer or other wargame in Nerd Alert: come and check our beautiful mats and terrains out.

You can take any terrain piece and play a smaller game on our normal table, and for bigger games we recommend the Tower table that is a bit bigger and more private.

The wargaming era in Nerd Alert has officially started❗

is Whirling Witchcraft?
Since we’re in a witchy mood, here is something that can scratch that itch.
Whirling Witchcraft is a game where you need to use recipes to brew ingredients in a cauldron, turning them into other ingredients. The catch is you pass whatever you brew to another player, and if their workspace overflows, you score points. So a buck-passing, sabotage game.

The game surprised us with cute design (just look at these little cauldrons!), and with how quick it is. Even the first game won’t last much longer than 30 minutes, and you can go again as many times as you like trying different Witches’ abilities.

Complexity: Low (we advise to skip Initiates and go straight for the full game)
Time to Play: 15-30 mins. One of the quickest we have
Perfect for: a quick warm up game for 2 to 5 players
Inspires to: rewatch Death Becomes Her, go hunting for mandrake roots somewhere in the forest

For attention of all witches and witchers❗An occult communiqué.
To survive the Witch burning/Pálení čarodějnic, come to the party on 30.4.

What to expect:
🎺Live music by to entertain the mortals. Dissipativ is a Prague-based experimental duo blending synths and drum machines with trills of a live trumpet. In other words, some serious magic.

🔮Suspiciously accurate tarot readings.

🍹Special potions on the cocktail menu.

🃏The unexpected.

The place is Nerd Alert on Bulharska 26.
Entrance free for witches and witchers, and those who look the part.

Finally it’s getting warm.
But since Walpurgis Night is almost upon us, and with it a traditional Czech witch-burning Pálení čarodějnic festival, for some of us who wear pointed hats and fly on brooms it might be getting a bit too fiery❗

So to offer refuge to practitioners, and appreciators, of quality witchcraft, Nerd Alert is hosting a Walpurgis Night Party, where witches and their familiars can blend in with the party goers to be safe from religious prosecution.
The cover will work much better if you dress up as a witch (obviously), so entrance will be free for Witches and Witchers (yes, THAT one counts).

As always, expect music, fun cocktails, tarot readings and a long night of fun before a well deserved state holiday.✨🔮

Can I play this with my kids?
Maybe not Annihilllagedon: Satanic Panic…
But here are some alternatives:

🏰Karak is a dungeon-crawler, but unlike Cyberflesh, doesn't feature any questionable body horror imagery, and is a great game for both younger and older kids.

🐍Jumanji is a a great family game, you go through animal themed trivia questions and fun (sometimes physical) challenges. If you hear sudden animal noises or see two seven-year olds trying to drag their father across the carpet, don't be alarmed -- it's Jumanji.

🔎Anonimo SpyGuy is just like The Name Game from Inglourious Basterds, but suitable for 4 year olds. Look for it in our "Kid's Section" near the bar.
