du hast ein spannendes business-konzept und willst endlich herausfinden, ob du den schritt in die selbstständigkeit wagen sollst? vor über 7 jahren habe ich mit mystifry genau so angefangen und bin nach kurzer zeit mit meinem eigenen donut-shop durchgestartet. diese chance möchte ich nun zurück an meine community geben. ✨

ich biete dir diesen sommer nun erstmals die möglichkeit, dein konzept für zwei monate (juli-august) in meinem shop in basel am rheinsprung 4 zu testen – vielleicht ist deine brand auch schon etablierter und du willst dich einfach breiter aufstellen.

meine location bietet dir:

- hochfrequentierte, zentrale lage im EG direkt in der innenstadt: schifflände, universität, das münster, der rhein und allgemeine touri-meile, alles auf einem fleck
- volle nutzung der infrastruktur und schaufläche – du brauchst nur noch deine ware
- faire, transparente konditionen und low risk. gerade, wenn du noch ganz am anfang stehst. been there!

last weekend was incredible and it feels so good to see the donuts back on the shelves. thank you to everyone who came out this easter weekend! your overwhelming support and outpouring of love means more than you can imagine and I’m forever grateful for every lovely interaction, kind message, positive review and for all of you still being here - even after the much needed break I took. in all honesty, I wasn’t sure if this was all going to work out and now I’m so glad I jumped back into it. 100% made the right decision by just trusting my gut. thank you!! see you again this weekend 🖤

tomorrow the donuts will make their return to the menu – for good! open all easter weekend! ✨

the new opening hours are now:
monday-thursday • closed
friday-sunday 11:00-17:00 / until sold out

we're going back to the beginnings: the shop will close once all donuts are sold out for the day (pls check insta stories). there will be a monthly changing menu with 4-5 flavours, one of them will always be the classic cinnamon sugar. everything is handmade and fully plant-based.

I've really missed working with my hands A LOT during the last months and it seems that my passion for all things baking and cooking will never die. I just needed a proper break (and you all never stopped asking to bring them back lol), so here we are! couldn't be more excited to re-open this chapter. thanks for still being here with me, means more than you can imagine 🖤

mystifry will be open during basler fasnacht this year! last time was absolutely wild, so we're really excited to take part in it again. 🎉

we'll be ready for all your caffeine needs and sugar cravings. strong coffee, chunky cookies and cakes - we've got it. see ya soon!

p.s.: the shop will be closed thursday + friday and back open on sat + sun as usual 10:00-16:30.

happy v-day to y'all and also happy birthday mystifry! 💘
7 years ago I made my first vegan heart-shaped donuts during a long night shift to raise funds for a charity event (last slide). endless cutting, frying and glazing – and I fell deeply in love with feeding people and putting a smile on their faces that day.

mystifry has grown and changed a lot during those years: opening my dream shop (second to last slide), expanding the team, outgrowing kitchens and machinery, finding new rhythms and flows, endless new donut flavours and recent menu adaptations. what hasn't changed though is my deep gratitude and appreciation for this community, the core fans and everyone behind the scenes, who helped make this dream of mine come to life.

to be honest, I really miss making donuts for you (and seeing your sad faces when asking about them on the daily also makes me kinda sad haha). a lot of things are unraveling at the moment and although I can't fully disclose any details yet, the tea is hot. I know mystifry's future is looking exciting and, who knows, maybe this isn't the end of the donut love after all?

I'm truly interested to hear your thoughts on this topic as well as any tips you might have on how to navigate those struggles. I swear, this isn't me trying to get you to comment for the sake of algorithm engagement. 🫠

long lines around the block. always sold out. loyal regulars. media coverage and (online) hype. for many, that’s what business success looks like and for a long time, i thought so too. but the price was high: i sacrificed my mental and physical health. i burnt out doing what i love. it was honestly heartbreaking.

for over six years, i poured everything i had into mystifry. worked day and night – no matter if i was sick, stressed out or freshly postpartum with my baby. never really switched off. always kept going going going. managing a team, dealing with financial pressure, navigating an unstable economy, trying to meet my own impossible standards while raising a young child – it was just way too fu***ng much. and it broke me.

i know a lot of business owners don’t talk about this stuff. we’re afraid of seeming weak or, even worse, ungrateful. it’s a path we chose, after all. but even if this feels like oversharing, i can’t and don’t want to keep going like that. i’ve made my final decision: the donuts aren’t coming back (at least not to the shop) – BUT this isn’t the end. soon, you’ll be able to enjoy mystifry donuts again. more on that later.

and to anyone out there struggling and holding on for dear life: you don’t have to earn your rest. you’re allowed to press pause. to change everything. to start over, anytime. if this reaches even just one person who needed to hear it today, then it was worth it.

take care of yourselves. check in on your (self-employed) friends. take your mental health seriously. get help. go to therapy.
