Now, let’s talk candied citrus. 🍊🍋🍋🟩
Candied fruit has been around for centuries, made with fruit and sugar.
No high fructose corn syrup, no dyes, no bleach, no sulphites, no added flavours.
But much of the candied peel readily available to us today bears very little resemblance to the original.
And because we don’t use those ingredients ever, we went looking for the real thing.
Traditional candied citrus is still made in Europe, and the orange and lemon peel in our fruitcake comes from France, from a maker that has been candying fruit for generations.
In a way, we’ve gone back to the source.
Because our Fruitcake is meant to be what fruitcake should be, not simply what fruitcake has become.
That’s why you’ll find beautifully candied French orange and lemon peel in our cake.
And why you will never find a green cherry.
