About the Role:
The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation at the Private Yacht Club. This position requires a skilled culinary professional who can assist in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining exceptional standards in food service.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in the creation and ex*****on of seasonal menus tailored to member preferences.
•Ensure consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation.
•Innovate and introduce new dishes while maintaining traditional favorites.
•Oversee food production for à la carte dining, banquets, and special events.
•Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
•Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
•Conduct inventory management, ordering, and cost control to optimize efficiency.
•Ensure proper food storage, handling, and waste reduction practices.
•Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and refine culinary strategies.
•Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
•Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to quality.
•Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring kitchen personnel.
•Plan and execute private events, weddings, and corporate functions.
•Collaborate with event planners to customize menus and accommodate dietary needs.
•Ensure timely and efficient service during high-volume events.
•Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
•Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain consistency and quality.
•Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
•Develop and execute creative menus tailored to member preferences.
•Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control.
•Prepare and cook meals for à la carte dining, banquets, and special events.
•Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas.
•Collaborate with the Executive Chef on seasonal menu planning.
•Handle kitchen-related administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
•Culinary diploma or equivalent experience.
•Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a private club or fine dining setting.
•Strong leadership and communication skills.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
•Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
•Passion for culinary excellence and innovation.
